i got a british l96 just a few days ago.
for 200$ (though it was upgraded with a f**kin crazy spring.
Scope was about 100$ extra. try hobbytron, they have cheap, quality guns, they MIGHT have one around 150 but i cant gaurintee it.
battery powered guns can get as long range as a sniper, as the idea of sniping in airsoft battles is innefective to battery powered guns. but mine was upgraded which made it abit more practical.
I would suggest getting a battery powered gun, and adding a short range scope (such as an acog copy if you can find one.)

if you want a spring airsoft rifle go to shortyusa.com and get a utg spring airsoft sniper kit witch comes with scop and bipod for about 140 bucks but if u want a electric sniper get a GJ G3 im not sure where u can buy them but they kick A$$
