Assault rifle age and buying laws for PA?

Me and one of my friends each turn 18 in march, and we each planed on buying our own SKS. would we be allowed to or do you have to be 21? and would it be a simple 10 minute background check (like for bolt action hunting rifles) or would they have to do a special assault rifle check that would take several days?

The SKS is NOT an assault rifle —– These were never full auto so never were an assault rifle — They are a decent semi-auto…. All you have to have to own one of these is to be 18 and have a drivers license……

no it is still a long gun rifle,, ok,, ar is just a (name given to fully auto firing military look alikes or black gun),, i think yous got to be 21 for a pistol in pa,,,, ok thanks

There is no such thing as an assault rifle, that is available to the general public. Assault rifles are fully automatic rifles that are only used by certain forms of military and people that own a special license for them (nearly impossible to get unless you are law enforcement). A SKS is not a fully automatic rifle. The term assault rifle is a term that is used by anti-gun organizations to try and scare people into following their beliefs. A SKS is no different than any other rifle that is out on the market right now, and falls into the same category of a bolt action rifle.

A standard SKS is not an assault weapon. Assault Rifles are different from Assault Weapons – Assault Rifles are selective fire – Assault Weapons is a bogus term created by McCarthy and her hooligans to try to convince the public that certain firearms were bad.
And the age for long guns is 18. Unless you have an SBR or an AR-15 with a registered pistol lower you should be fine

An SKS is not an assault rifle. When you turn 18 you just go in to the gun store and buy it. As far as I know 21 is only for handguns

Yes come march when you turn 18 you can legally buy a SKS, you only need to be 21 to buy a pistol
