Can a Kel-Tec SU-16CA rifle fire a 5.56×45 mm military round?

I am looking into buying one of these rifles and, in all of my research, couldn’t find out if it is capable of firing a standard NATO round in addition to something like a .223 Remington. Thank you.

If you look at the following link you will see that specific model is stamped 5.56mm on the receiver of the gun.

Call up the manufacturer and ask what they chamber them in.

Better yet, just go on Wikipedia… they’d have that kind of information.

(And I hate with a passion, Wikipedia)

Yes. Any rifle chambered for .223 can fire 5.56, but use caution firing .223 in a rifle chambered for 5.56. Most well-made firearms can handle it, but the higher pressure of the .223 round could pose a risk factor is some poorly manufactured (foreign mil-surp) rifles.
