Can a M14 223 detonate tannerite or ammonal?
Was just wondering if my M14 has enough punch to detonate Tannerite shooting targets. I don’t have hunting rifle, I use semi auto military rifles but I nothing like a .308 . Currently I am trying to just set it off with blasting caps. Thank you.

Possibly. But a 30 cal high power round is better, and not very far away.
If blasting caps won’t work, maybe the stuff got wet, and can be dried.

yes it does, as long as the bullet is going a bit over the speed of sound, it’s all good.

Yes. It has enough velocity.

yes it will, i think .223 is actually the lowest you can use to detonate it

I call BS.
I have never seen, heard, or dreamed of an M14 chambered in .223.

Yes, all I own is Military styled weapons and the .223 works great. It’s pretty much the minimum caliber to use.
