Need to add just a bit to the already correct answer of Yes. You do NOT need to register your firearms on base unless you live in base housing. If you own your own home, you don’t have to say anything about firearms concerning on base registration.
they cant
I havent got a clue..
You should trust your dad.
Uh. No it is not true. It is ridiculous to even think that.
What would be the reasoning? Think about it. Someone trained to use them can’t have them, but someone that isn’t trained can?
They can own them all they want. As long as they meet the same guidelines as anyone else.
Hmmm..It depends i think that the army reserves can own firearms in their homes.if thats what your talking about, but i think they can
Yes they can. You can even store them on your installation if you desire. I kept mine in my apartment as I lived off base.
Yeah they can! When I was in I bought alot of guns. Being in the military made it way easier too, being from out of the state that I was in at the time all I needed to show the dealer was my military id and a copy of my orders.
The people in the US military can own guns but ther are some restrictions. I spent most of my enlistment in Japan where guns are illegal. I knew a couple of guys who liked to go shooting and they would keep their guns on ship in the armory (with the CO’s permission) but could only use them on the base range. If you live off base in a foreign country you have to abide by their laws as well as the UCMJ.
yes you can. i have 3 rifles a shotgun and 2 pistols. you have to register them on post at the mp station through the provost martial. if you live in the barracks they have to be stored in the arms room and you can draw them out when you want to use them and return them when you are done. if you live in housing (if allowed itll say when you sign for housing) you can store them there.
They can own them at home like any other US Citizen, but can not take them with them on deployments or to foreign countries.
Yes they can own firearms … with the same restrictions as other U.S. citizens….
That is silly. Of course they can.
There are some requirements for keeping your weapons on post, ranging from registration to keeping your civilian weapons in the arms room in some areas.
But there is no prohibition on military members owning them.
Some places you even get 50 percent off if youre active army.
Surely! They’ve got all the same rights to gun ownership as any civilian, and probably more privileges depending on where they shop.
What they can’t do is take these firearms with them on operations or out to the field while working.
Yes you can own firearms in the military but there are restrictions on ownership. The weapon must be registered on the post where you are serving and if you live in the barracks the weapon must be secured in the unit arms room. You are not allowed to keep a firearm in the barracks. If you live in family quarters you can have the weapon in the home as long as it is registered on post. Hope this helps, good luck to you pardner.
Not true at all.
we have a bunch in our house..we even took them to japan and the only time they werent in our possesion was when we lived offbase..when we moved on base we got all of them back from the armory
