Can someone carry a shotgun in a vehicle on a military instillation?

Like here in Texas you can have a shotgun in your vehicle, but what about in FT. Hood, TX. The military is in charge there but doesn’t Texas Constitution overrule the military policies. I have read on the policy letters that weapons are not allowed in the barracks but Iv heard nothing about POV’s.

Call Ft. Hood Military Police. My guess is you are NOT allowed to bring a shotgun on base.

military bases operate on their own law, state law has no power over bases

not on base.. all weapons must be secured at the armory. FEDERAL LAW overrules any namby pamby State law.

Yes, you CAN have a shotgun or pistol (etc), but insofar as driving around installation with it, you aren’t allowed. You must take it to the base armory and have it checked. So I guess the extent of your ability to have it on base is driving to and from the armory.

Military bases (not National Guard necessarily) are Federal property and federal law takes precedence.

For Ft Hood, you’ll have to check the post regs. I have experience at AF bases, not Army posts.

NO..it’s against the law to carry on a military base, on your person or in a vehicle…military rules on bases, not the state.
