As far as I know, the closest thing to the SVD is a Romanian PSL, at least in cosmetic appearence, because they do not sell Dragunovs in the states.
Sorry. I wouldn’t know about that. I look at guns online, but I do not own one. You should probably post another question about the legality of this.

i dont see why not, whoever they are not easy to obtain. your better off going with a 300 weather-bee mag with ballistic tip rounds. deer = dead.

Yes you can purchase. True Russian dragunov is hard to find and cost serious bucks. Here’s a site that tells you it’s legal to add military parts to your svd and other FAQ’s. http://www.dragunov.net/faq.htm#14
