Where can I purchase an Army Bayonet that can attach to the M16 Rifle?

February 26th, 2011 by eranio

I would like to know if the knife I am asking about will be mil spec if purchased through US Cavalry Catalog, Brigade Quartermasters, Military Surplus Store or another catalog similar to US Cavalry or Brigade Quartermasters. I need honest responses only and preferably military spec and/or pretty damn close to it.

i figured you guys would know, seeing as you are military and what-not?

February 24th, 2011 by eranio

i just ordered an accuracy international arctic warfare rifle. it is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. bolt action, 10 round magazine.

my only problem is, i have no idea where to even start looking when it comes to finding the right scope. i am going to be shooting at distances up to and beyond 1000 yards. it is not competition, i am going to be shooting at a live target (medium – large game). what type of scopes do you fellas in the Marines, Army, etc use when it comes to "sniper" rifles?
k buddy you can try answering the question i asked with an answer and not questions…but for the sake of argument yes i am extremely accurate with iron sighted weapons.

I understand self-defense and even hunting. But please explain?

February 24th, 2011 by eranio

Why would a person need several guns explain why someone would need 15 guns? Why would a person need an Assault Rifle? Why would a person need hundreds of bullets? What ever happened to moderation?

Like I said I can understand having a few of them, I just don’t understand why a civilian would need high powered military grade assault rifles?

Posted in Military Rifles | 15 Comments »

can you fire military grade incendiary ammo from an average civilian rifle?

February 23rd, 2011 by eranio

like if you were to pick up a 7.62 x 51mm incendiary cartridge, could you fire it out of a civilian .308 bolt action rifle without any harm done to you or the rifle. just wondering and i would never try it.

What do police and military need a shotgun for?

February 23rd, 2011 by eranio

I’m just wondering about something. Assuming they have access to pistols, rifles, what do they need a shotgun for? How is tactically better than say M-16 or some other weapon? Do they use bullets or buckshot?

Right now I’m in Russia picking whether to just get my shotgun for hunting or also apply for a rubber bullet pistol permit. But starting this summer these pistols are treated like hunting weapons, meaning you can’t carry them loaded or use within city limits. I’m also having trouble imagining a scenario where I’d use that pistol and not get into trouble for doing it. If it comes to that I might as well use the shotgun.

How often do you get to use Sim rounds in the military?

February 22nd, 2011 by eranio

I’m joining the Army for EOD for 4 years in two weeks. I know they mentioned sim rounds, which are gunpowder-powered paintball guns. I couldn’t be more excited. I have played paintball as a hobby since i was 12, with military-style paintball guns in the woods, and to hear that they have basically the same thing, except working FAR better, i’m really excited.

How often do you normally get to go use Sim rounds for training when stationed in the US? Can you elect to join in to any other people going out to do that, for more training and for fun? I figure it’d be nice to have a hobby that is considered work.

And are they fired from standard guns? Could you put a sim round (if you found where to buy them) into a normal bullet-firing rifle? I would be suprised if you could.

Are the FN Herstal P90 and F2000 ever used by US military forces anywhere?

February 22nd, 2011 by eranio

I think the guns are technologically advanced, and in the case of the F2000, greatly superior to the M4′s currently jamming on our troops in their fight for civility in the middle east. The F2000 is a 5.56 chambered weapon, that has a longer barrel than the M4, but is much shorter. It uses M16 magazines, so it would fit right in with current weapons.

Or, thanks to the way the contracts work, is there no way for troops to recquisition their commanders to let them have better guns, even if they paid out of pocket for them? I’d consider my rifle worth investing in.

I have seen group photos of guys in my recruiter’s office that have weapons that i doubt are commonly issued. And it was the recruiter in the photos, not just a generic promotional photo.

I know SF are well known for giving the military beaurocrats the finger, and using whatever guns they feel best get the job done (H&K’s SCAR-L). Are they the only guys that get a choice in guns?

I’ll be doing 89D EOD in the Army, btw.

Tattoos in the Military? Really unprofessional?!?

February 21st, 2011 by eranio

I was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 2002. I want to re enlist but I am not allowed because I have two tattoos on my neck, one on each side. The Marine Corps cites that it looks unprofessional. That may be, but considering I’m a grunt, only want to be a grunt, and that grunts wear Kevlar helmets, Neck collars, flak jackets, and carry rifles amongst a vast group of varied weapons……how do my tattoos effect my ability to fight in say a little place like Iraq? Do insurgents give job interviews?

Best Military Position?

February 20th, 2011 by eranio

I am wondering what would be a good position for me. I want to be a person who makes and plants explosives (C4, grenades, bombs, bazooka’s) I would also like to be a person who hacks into enemy computers and gets important information. I would also like to be a person who takes out enemys from a distance, sort of like snipers do but i do’t like sniper rifles (is there anything similiar to a sniper?) Please answer.
If all of these require seperate jobs, then i guess i want all of them.

Can Marine Infantrymen carry personally owned side arms?

February 18th, 2011 by eranio

If you are a Marine in the 03xx feild and own your own weapon can you take it on deployments with you? I know you can’t if it is not a military weapon, so it would have to be a berreta (M9). So basically, if you own an M9 can you take it with you, along with your issued rifle?

So how has your luck been with 20 gauge slugs?

February 16th, 2011 by eranio

Here’s the question, how has your luck been with 20 gauge slugs on deer in the past? Say out of a mod-choked 23" bbl? I would like to know the farthest distance you have successfully taken deer at, your preferred ammunition, and what you would consider the limits to be of your preferred ammunition.

Ok, I am going to throw in another question just for the heck of it. So we have had many questions about military rifles, and their use in military combat, the past few days from a certain member of YA! that I have always tried to be nice to and give my best answer to when they asked a question that I felt I could answer. My question is this, do you think that people should post military questions (which contain no hunting references in them) in the hunting forum and then we should get them banned for continually posting in the wrong section? Or what would you consider to be proper course of action to help better the YA! hunting forum?
Thank you Tahoe. To clarify, I am referring to the questions that are talking about the use of those firearms in combat situations, which have no hunting situations or implications.

What college courses should i take if i want to get a job designing assault rifles?

I want a career in designing small arms for military use. I was wondering what all courses I should study to start a career in that field.

Wouldn't banning all semi-automatic weapons work better than limiting clip capacity?

February 15th, 2011 by eranio

Loughner and the other nuts like him, would have to had reloaded 5 or even 6 times to shoot that many people with the average revolver. Why not limit all non-military or law enforcement to 5 or 6 shots per pistol or rifle or shotgun. You would still be able to defend yourself and your family?

Why do Russians have superior military technology?

February 15th, 2011 by eranio

They’ve invented underwater assault rifles, amphibious vehicles, recoiless assault rifles, helicopters that can attack and transport at the same time, tanks that can transport infantry, and machine pistols. What the hell does America have?

Questions about our US military?

How many more years do you think the US military will use the M16 as their primary rifle

Why don't more rifles/handguns have matching calibers?

February 14th, 2011 by eranio

I was reading about how cowboys and lawmen in the past would often have the same caliber for their rifle and pistol so they could use the same ammo for each gun and eliminate confusion. Looking around though it’s pretty hard to match calibers today (ie. I have a 30/30 but can’t find a matching caliber handgun, esp in semi-auto). Seems this thing would be especially useful in places like the military. Truthfully I don’t know much about guns, but why aren’t there more options for using the same ammo for a rifle and a handgun? What do you think is the ideal matching set?

What seems to be the best gun to replace or at least limit the use of the M16/M4 in the US Military?

February 12th, 2011 by eranio

I was wondering what the best gun so far at least is best to limit the use to even replace the M16/M4 Assault Rifle for the US Military. I know the XM8 Assault Rifle was stopped being developed in 2005. I also know that the SCAR-H/SCAR-L Assault Rifle is being tested or in somewhat to decent use by the US Army Ranger 75th Regiment. I know that the Bushmaster/Remington ACR (Adaptive Combat Rifle) is being developed ( at least that was what it said when I goolged searched several sites about the ACR at least a month ago) and might soon enter testing when completed if still being developed. Also I know there are other guns that might be tested and maybe come into limited use like maybe the M416 I think and that there is also the light machine gun in use by the US Military which I think is called the M249 Light Machine Gun.

P.S. can you tell me if the SCAR-H/SCAR-L is in use and if it is the US Army Ranger 75th Regiment offically using it and using it instead or the M16/M4 or at least around half and half for both guns and also can you tell me if the ACR is still being developed and if it is not being developed is it rejected and forgotten like the XM8 Assault Rifle or is it being tested and maybe in limited to decent usage by the US Military.

"A New Life from scratch", New Project, real Plasma Pulse Rifles, whatever i'm bored?

February 11th, 2011 by eranio

So I’m seriously bored,

And with the Idea that "If its Probable its Possible, and will happen to some extent"

So please serious Answers on how anyone should get started on plasma rifles except for things that are on the internet cus im sure i have looked that up already. (i have successfully totally googled my english language for any info)

[Branching out to those who just wanna do something with their life]
I’m looking for people who really want to do something in life, and are committed and want to change things for a change.

Like an idea , Secret Societies, I’m sure others high-ended Secret Societies won’t mind our guileless plow through life and veiled territories of life which people don’t comprehend…

We’ll be a freaking huge group of people who will subdue the future even FASTER, cus now is boring
All I’m saying is if you want to be in,any age ,any condition ,any past you’re in.. and if they (im talking to you/all how don’t like this random nature which tends to break the Alpha barrier of Tech) try eliminating us and our random purpose lets just say we ride in packs like wolves (with plasma rifles)

(this is not Chat just a new question to look for people who want something different with others help, anyone i mean any one is invited to come, unconditionally (your past is erased to us) except one condition, The Sanctity of Teamwork must be learned)

Please Spread The Word of THIS, and if you can put it in another language, please do, and if its hard to capture the same idea because of cultural sensitivity to the language and thoughts, don’t worry we’ll get that down together

If Your in In say "Aye" and take note of those others who say Aye

This is how you will present your Identification (if you do say "AYE") and Details bout anything )even if you dont join (i highly recommend that you do write your new ID down cus its your new life)

>(Your ScreenName)
>(Your Desired Position, use very general positions in anything, like there is "Leader" but not "Super Leader" just "Leader", or you can use military rank, But realize what you choose is what you get so choose wisely as this is your new life),
>(and a number that is relative to you, or an set of numbers)
>(then last but not least, Your Name, doesn’t matter if its your common used name or legal name, its whatever… and some details about anything like life or whatever)

>my name is michaelCheeseBeta, Leader, 19650917…[PIN] (Alpha Leader postion is only for something else so no one can really accept that position even in ther general Descriptions like the term "God" cus its nullifying to humans and doesn’t exist for us)

or call me Michael

"AYE"

[If you ask "is this a joke", well that's as far as you will go in life, its only fact]

Welcome To New Life People, and Good Luck, you’re gonna need it, and shitload of imagination to get through this one..
not even Google will be able to catch up this time or even the fastest computer on earth

What is the success rate of every individual special operations force in the us military?

February 11th, 2011 by eranio

I’m thinking about a military career in special operations. I prefer to use my mind to fight problems. I want to be in the most challenging selection course that the us military can offer. I have better than average stamina. I like to work in a team that knows exactly what they are doing. I want to be trained in every basic and advanced skill that special ops soldiers know. I am fairly good in swimming, but I prefer to work in places like deserts, third world countries, jungles, and mountainous terrain. I prefer to use accurate rifles than rifles with firepower. I prefer to work in small groups like groups of two, instead of the 12 men A-team. I’d rather know everything than be good in one field. With this information, which special ops force do you think best fits me?
