The Seattle Times and many others have reported that the use of depleted uranium (DU) in projectiles and shielding in Iraq has increased the rate of birth defects in civilian populations and in the US military.
Who is behind such claims? Is this real or propaganda?

Are they just like, "Hey you’re pretty good with that." or do you get taught your specialty ahead of time. If so, do you choose what weapons or division when you enlist?

If, at some point within the next few years, either Israel or America (or both) attack Iran to halt their alleged production of nuclear weapons, what would be the economic consequences for the region and for the world?
I have read things that suggest that gas in the USA could be /per gallon is war is made against Iran. And that such an attack would produce an ever widening war, where things could only get worse.
What will happen if Iran is attacked?

Wake up, its not. Its what we do now and it doesn’t work. As long as you terrorize one group another group will want to bring you down. Eventually others will join & it’ll lead to a massive war, which in the day of nuclear weapons will only be a lost war for any side.
McCain – ‘we don’t negotiate with terrorists’
Trigger happy SOB.

just start using the military in an enforcement role instead of a supporting one. Do you really think the Drug Cartels will continue shooting at our people when their are Apaches and Cobra gunships ready to do strafing runs on them? Would this violate the posse comitatus act?
Sadly politicians will never allow this…

Also do you think Israel could still take on the Arab nations like they did in the 6 day war in 1967? Absouluty destroying them? Or would it be a different outcome? Would Nuclear weapons play a role? What do you think the U.S, Russia, and European nations will do? How many Arab nations would it take to destroy Israel?

I am interested in the why and why not factors related to the military support carrying weapons during the katrina relief efforts. I have a debate and was assigned to the "yes" they should have been carrying weapons team.

This teaching is a stereotype. It may be true for the most part, but some women are learning how to fight. Someone told me that believe it or not, a woman who may become a potential victim relying on men for protection is a very dangerous teaching, no matter how comfortable it may feel to them.
It not always, but may lead them into a position where they could get raped, or taken hostage hoping for the "knight in an army uniform and military weapons and ammo" to come to their rescue.

Many countries use fences, video cameras and land mines along borders, soon machines guns will be mounted on towers, guided by lasers and ordered by programs to fire at targets within certain parameters.(people)
Should they be used on borders, should they be used at military installations, prisons and/or private areas?
Please indicate if, where and why.
I forgot to add soldiers with guns are used along borders too!

the only reasons I heard were
1. to find the weapons of mass destruction
2. to remove saddam from power
3. to have a democraticly elected government that would show other middle eastern nations how great democracy is.

There was a lot of talk of nuclear weaponry, first strike weapons, airbases, etc during the Cold War but nothing really proven. Is this still the case?

when the civilians attacked stuff, (keep in mind it’s around 1942), what weapons did they use?
I don’t think they’d have the technology available to the military, but more advanced than swords, daggers, archery i think.
so im a little confused.

I was just reading a Times magazine article about troops skipping training to get sent to iraq and it made me wonder what the norm was for military training over the last 40 years. In case you are interested the article mentioned that new troops now have 9 monthes of basic training and infantry tactics, but shorten the pre iraq 4 week training to 10 days learning about weapon use, first aid, and iraqi culture. Is this appropiate training in comparison to the past? You tell me.

I was wondering what the standard weapons issued to soldiers in the US military were. Can someone tell me what they are? I would like to know the small arm, side arm and so on. Also try not to get all Call of Duty on me.
