China’s military is not the strongest, nor is it the largest nuclear weapons.?
China’s military is not the strongest, nor is it the largest nuclear weapons, the United States has the greatest external threat of aggression. Since the success of China’s development of nuclear weapons, China has promised not to take the lead in the use of nuclear weapons, until now.

I don’t understand your question.
Actually Russia probably has more nukes than the USA.
The USA just has more accurate delivery systems and therefore does not need as many. Plus OURS probably work.
China only needs about 200 to insure they can destroy the USA.
The USA built ours up throughout the cold war. China was never in the running at that time.
China can raise a very large army though—-in fact China could concievable field an Army much larger than the entire population of the UNITED STATES.

China treat of "unifying" Taiwan even by force is not something to be taken lightly…since it is a matter of pride and not practicality..!
when emotions and not reason is involve things can get ugly fast!
and that is the only treat to peace in the region from China as of today….

I have to agree.
They have only a handful of Nukes.
They have a very limited Navy, and even though they have a carrier, they have no jet aircraft that can operate from it.
They have a huge army, but a lot of the equipment is old and a lot of their manpower is geared toward internal security.
Also, something a lot of westerners do not realize is the US and China have been allies since 1972 and the US officially recognizes Taiwan as a part of China.
China is capable of defending itself, but that is about it. That is currently all China wants to do. Their national policy in 24 characters state that.
What China is doing though is using their economic advantage to undermine local economies in places like Africa, but the only area they mess with is economic, they ignore political and human rights issues within countries and feel no regret what-so-ever if they destroy a local economy to push their economic agenda.

We will never know until we try do we? Are you sure about your theory about China’s military is not the strongest? If you look through history during the Korean war of 1950′s China’s Red Army allied with North Korea for the possession of South Korea. The People’s Army over runned the UN foreign forces in some Korean provinces and the US 7th Army couldn’t stopped China’s juggernauts. That even the supreme commander then Douglas MacArthur suggested to use atomic bombs in China which President Truman at that time refuse to heed the call for such weapon. The Chinese formed the V tactics of encircling the US and the UN forces, that was 59 years ago. What more now, China has the biggest number of military forces in the Far East. Their military capability is still a mystery to the US intelligence up to now. Even the UN or the US do not know the quantity of nukes China possess.
Yes the US have the greatest external threat of aggression ONLY to those smaller countries who have no military capability to begin with. Imagine the US goes head to head collision with China. Do you think the US would do such foolish move? Of course not. China is not a push over countries unlike Somalia and some Middle Eastern countries. China today is the leading import/export of every product ever imagine. You can find a pencil/paper/camera etc. the list goes on and on one way or another all made in China.
Yes China promised not to take the lead in the use of nukes. But we will never know in the future to come. Besides, who needs nukes when they possess the biggest number of troops who can be assembled in just a flick of a finger.

Until "now"?
When?
China officially still claim that they will NOT use nuclear weapons in first strike.
According to western media, China has over 300 nuclear warheads. Including megaton H bombs. But true number would be a state secret. Unless it was sold out by traitors/spies.
China’s conventional military power is not that strong yet. Because their military spending was cut repeatedly on yearly basis during the 1970~1980s until after the first Gulf War which woke them up as "THAT could happen to us!".
Even today, most Chinese troops are still using outdated equipments. It will take at least another decade for them to be replaced. However, even the latest weaponry are still one generation behind the west. Need at least 30 years to catch up the west technologies.

China has a huge army no doubt but if America decided to isolate china they would go back to being third world. A couple presidents ago they decided to "open up china to the world". The US would suffer if US and Chineese relations broke down but China would suffer much worse. If that happens they couldn’t support that gigantic army anymore. So china is only as good as America wants it to be.
