Do modern military forces still use fire as a weapon?

Fire, along with rocks, spears and sticks, is one of the oldest weapons known to man.
Perhaps Candy has not heard of napalm, incendiary devices or flamethrowers?

While you’re not likely to find anyone wielding a flamethrower in most modern military forces, you will typically find incendiary grenades issued in areas where they are applicable. Fire is also often used as a distraction tool, and attempting to "cook off" the enemy’s munitions supplies will usually involve some form of fire.

So sure, fire is a viable weapon.

Yes I always being my flint rock, a pair of socks, a bundle of sticks, and some pointy long poles with me ever where I go.
