If you are referring to an invasion of US soil yes Im sure our military has enough conventional weapons to defend us, at the same time dont discount the number of fine small arms owned by true patriots. we would be on em like stink on crap.

America, even though its man-power in its military isn’t the greatest, we easily have the most sophisticated and advanced weapons this world has ever seen. A single aircraft carrier can literally fight a third-world country on its own, and there is no need for an all-out war. We scare the bejesus outta every other country, and nukes will never be used unless we are threatened and attacked by them

Yes, USA is the worlds, current, superpower. We can wipe out anybody right now and all out wars wouldn’t work… there are dirty cheaters out there that would use them anyways

Actually with our current military numbers at enlisted numbers only, we’re at an all time low in numbers of trained ready to go soldiers…and since we’re deployed over in the middle east, you might say there is a skeleton crew at the ready here stateside….
BUT!!! Don’t fret, the real protection for America lies within it’s citizens… This one reason that the Japanese did not invade beyond Pearl Harbor, because they knew that American citizens are heavily armed compared to their citizens, and they knew this….
An ALL OUT attack on American soil would be unlikely because every able bodied citizen would be locked and loaded as soon as the word was out that an entity had attacked…
All it took to alert the Americans that the British were coming was a man on a horse…
Today we have Television, Radio, Internet, cell Phones…that news would spread like wildfire, and the citizens would fight…..
Bet the die hard anti-gunners would be kissing the feet of the American gun owner if that ever happened… LOL

I am sorry but to Judge Sludge (SP?), Japan didn’t invade further for a multitude of reasons and yours wasn’t one. The imperial fleet didn’t move forward because they didn’t want America, they wanted a hold in Manchuria, China, the phillipenes(SP? American owned) and a few other things, they wanted islands with resources, traveling half way around the world wasn’t in their mind, they thought that if they sunk our fleet at Pearl Harbor, they could secure all their islands without our intervention. They never wanted the American mainland, only the pacific islans.
And yes, we have more than enough weapons to fight off any strike by Iran, because Israel would undoubtedly help us, and if Iran attacked us, so would Britain, and possibly Canada and Germany.

the insurgents in iraq, armed with little more than AK-47′s and roadside bombs have kept the worlds most expensive military occupied for 4 years.
iraq is a country of 20 million people. imagine what the 300+ million, heavily armed and industrious citizens of the USA could do to any invader. that is not even considering our military capabilities.
who is going to come and get us?
