How far should an airsoft sniper rifle shoot accurately?
March 13th, 2010 by eranio
I have 2 snipers and I dont know what range to set the hop up to. And my shots are going to the right of my crosshairs. How heavy of bb’s should I use? My rifle is 600 fps. Thank you.

For 600 fps you should get accuracy up to 150 feet and I would use 0.23 BB’s to get the best performance. The velocity will probably drop to about 550 fps, but the accuracy will be better.

maybe 30 yards with no wind.

The best about 15yds. Set up a target mark yardage work your way out and see.

I’d probably use 28g bb’s. It should shoot at least 200 ft accurately enough to hit a standing target. In your case, it sounds like the scope needs adjustment.

use .30s, the wind doesnt effect them much, that gives them greater accuracy. i continually shoot my stop-sign @ 220ft w/ my L96 using .30s
so u should b able 2 shoot a person @ 200ft, so sight it in there.
u also should no where ur gun shoots @ different ranges, so xperiement /w it a little.

As for Vern and Pickedon, where the hell do you get 30 yards and 15 yards?
Anyways, for 600 fps (kind of high, either it’s upgraded or gas I’m guessing?) I’d go with .3g maybe even a little heavier. With that high of a fps, it might throw it off course faster. As for the range to sight the scope in at and to adjust the hopup for, around 200ft is a good median. If you have to go any farther or shorter, you can compensate for it. If it’s a gas though, your first shot is the most important one because after that they’ve heard you and know the general spot you’re in.

1. SNIPER RIFLE
2. 600fps with a .2? a .12? Please specify.
3. What kind of rifle do you own?
Assuming you mean a .2 then you should definitally look into .4g bb’s. I think madbull makes some. To be really called a sniper in airsoft, you should be able to hit 190ft accurately.

Do not use your rifle in a game within 50 ft.. At a close enough range, it might enter the skin.
Anyway, my rifle goes about 100-150 ft.

Definetly use .30s

The hop up, should go with your scope.
It seems like you have the right hop up.
You need to adjust your scope.
On the windage secton, look to see where it Left —>
Turn it slightly to the other way, and keep shooting to see if it goes directly with your crosshairs.
That should do the trick.

For best performance upgrade the barrel, adjust the scope and use .28 or higher bbs

Using .25g or .28g BBs will do you well. Remember that the heavier the BB, the better the accuracy.

with an fps of 600 you should use at least .3 gram bbs, possible even.43 (highest ive ever seen). you need to realign your crosshairs (scope should have a manual explaining how), and your range should be 200-250 feet.
