How long is the name check for an assault rifle? ?
My mom wants to get my dad an AR-15 for christmas but we cant because
1. It costs 1300 dollars
2. The name check thing might take to long.
But i was wondering how long the name check is for an assault rifle, is it any different than any other gun?

AR15′s can still be had for $7-800.
If you are worried the NICS check might take too long, you have bigger things to worry about, my last one took a 3 minute phone call. Then I was out the door with my 20" OLYARMS AR15.
The check is the same for a tactical sporting rifle( I dont own ASSault rifles, only the media and Democrats know what they are) as they are for .22′s, 12 guages, and 500 S&W’s.
They check for history on the name/SS# provided, as long as its clean, you get a gun. They may delay you for a few days, but you can have the dealer call in and re-check every hour they are open for business.

Depends on what state you live in. In TX, it may take you about 30-45min. As long as you can pass the background check, you can take it home the same day.

My last background check cleared in less than 5 minutes.
If your Mom can’t afford the 13 bills, I guess the background check is moot. Don’t be too disappointed, that’s a lot of money and times are rough.

Dont buy the AR15 its so expensive. If your going to invest in woodsball i would suggest stick with the 200-400 tippman or Ben Tippman guns. The Tippman Bravo one looks sick and its at a reasonable price.

But in my opinion i suggest you get into speedball and buy a speedball gun. You can use speedball guns either in scenerio or speedball. They are electric and shoot usually20-30bps.
Suggestions=Invert mini, Pmr
But Ar-15 are really nice rifles

I bought an AR in SC a few months ago, the background check took less than 10 minutes.

A few states have a waiting period.
I am a FFL Dealer and my NICS Checks are usually very quick 2-3 minutes.

It’s Christmas time in a gun buying frenzy period so the agency could very well be backed up and will take longer than normal
last time I bought a gun at this time of year I had to wait 20 minutes for it to go through
There are still ARs out there for much less than $1300
