How many self-identified liberals view military intervention in the name of Liberty as being justified?

Is spreading freedom, tolerance and peace through the muzzle of a gun too paradoxical for you? Or, do you think that it’s better we spread peace through war rather than let those warring factions take all of our aid to buy more guns with?

It’s not too paradoxical, but it’s also not possible to spread freedom, tolerance, or peace through violent means. Those are concepts that the individual people have to understand and embrace. There are times that call for violence, and there are times that don’t.

A gun CAN liberate someone from a dictator, but it CAN’T explain to them what freedom actually means.

Of course it is…people need to choose and fight for their own freedom…it’s not something you can simply give to someone else and hope they appreciate it. (DUH!)

    Under certain circumstances, maybe.

Military intervention has hidden motives. If it were done in the name of ‘Liberty’ we would have intervened with Sudan.

I don’t – If I had my way, I’d bomb all those losers "over there”, and then sort them out later.

The young people in America should not be fighting "other people’s” wars.
