Well, if you believe the ban will last at least 10 years (the proposed time frame right now) prices will probably climb at least another 25-50%. Doubling again is not out of the realm of possibility. It depends upon the details of the ban. If the ban is a permanent ban or is extended, who knows? If you read the ban, there are some real nasty clauses in it. Of course, the Senate must write their own bill and pass it, then it has to go into committee where they iron out the differences then it goes to Obama for signing. And regardless of what the Obamanuts say, he will sign it.

Your missing the point of a "Ban". Which didn't preclude manufacture only sale or transfer. So the normal market price would be unobtainable.

Obama has bigger problems right now...
He wont be banning any firearms now. And I doubt he will at any time in his first or second term.
The dems may put some tighter controls in place, but they will never ban guns. Citizens wont let them...
Of course, idiots like Plaxico Burress dont help our cause! But what can you do?!

The ban had little effect on the price of the guns targeted
The ban was on features not so much guns

You could get a pre ban AR or AK during the ban but since the main differences were only cosmetic the price of pre ban was not really all that much more, maybe a hundred or two

Now if he decides t ban the import or manufacture of these guns the prices will go through the roof like they did when full auto imports and manufacture was banned

I really wish you people would get off this "he wont have time" crap
The bill is already written and just waiting for the formality of debate and a signature
What makes any of you think that the author of the bill is going to let it stagnate while he is in the number two position

Maybe it is just me but I think your nice firearms will be just decoration. They cannot enforce gun control, we all know that when they try, only crooks will have them. Honest citizens are the only folks that any gun laws will hurt.
I think they will make ammo unobtainable through taxes and the components to make it super restrictive. The prices are already skyrocketing.
Everyone I know who is a gun enthusiast is stocking up on ammo and the prices are reflecting the high demand. Unless you have stock piled ammo for it, I am sorry to say, in the future, your AR will be worth next to nothing if they have the last word. This is the only way to have real gun control, control the ammo they need to function. JMHO

Even before this man is in office, AR15 prices have increased 30-50% depending on area. Manufacturers are not sending whole weapons at the moment(at least in my area), and our parts orders are coming few and far between.

He will not attempt to ban the guns at first, it will be features, such as magazine capacity, barrel length, folding/collapsible stocks, no external safety....blah, blah, blah.

If he is elected for the second term( er......sentence, as in prison sentence for us gun lovers), then the attempts to ban the "dangerous" weapons will come to light.

But, you can count on increased taxes on guns, ammo, and related equipment. This guy is from Illinois, there are quite a few gun businesses in IL. Rock River, Les Baer, Springfield. The list goes on and on. IL lawmakers have made life hell for the owners of said companies, to the point where they have suggested closing shop, laying off their employees, and moving to a more friendly state.

Remember our good ol' buddy Obama was front-lining these efforts.
