    1. Hop-up is a system that uses a little rubber piece to put back-spin on the BBs to make them fly farther. One problem is when hop-up is too strong and the BBs fly upwards, this shouldn’t happen. Hop-up is meant to make the BBs "float" longer distances.
    2. Scope rings are what hold a scope on the scope rail. There are three different types of rails (I’m sure there are more, but these are the most popular), dovetail which is common on pellet guns, weaver which is like picatinny but with different dimensions, and picatinny which is 20mm across and as slots cut into it (don’t quote me on that, I’m no gun expert!)
    3. The first thing you should upgrade is your inner barrel. You have an outer barrel and an inner barrel. The outer barrel makes the gun look real, the inner barrel is where the BBs travel. For a sniper I recommend using at least a 6.02mm tight-bore, but this means a commitment to buying only higher grade BBs. After your barrel you have all your internals that make the gun work. A spring pushes on a cylinder head that’s inside a cylinder to compress air and push the BB out the barrel. In a spring gun this part has very few components. The actual spring, which normally shouldn’t be upgraded because chances are it’s already the strongest the gun can handle. The spring guide, which is basically a rod that keep the spring straight (hence the name). Trigger sears, which is the device that holds the spring back. Cylinder head, the actual cylinder that compresses the air. This is pretty much all I know of, apart from the hop-up bucking which controls the hop-up nub’s height.

I hope this helps, but try doing a little research on your own. You sound keen enough to keep the gun in good condition, so do simple searches like "upgrade guide for tsd sd700".

As for maintenance, I own a Well MB03 and a little silicon oil on moving parts helps it run smooth. I’m not a hardcore airsoft player, like many people who turn to the internet, and consider this gun pretty good in my matches. No matter what others tell you, if you treat the rifle right and buy a few upgrades, it will do its job.

well the only thing i can answer is #2 which scope rails are what is on the gun which lets you mount the scope to the gun and scope rings are what goes around the scope and attaches to the rails to mount the scope

I think you will be able to get all of your answers here http://www.airsplat.com/airsoft-info.htm. Super helpful information here. Anything you’ll ever need to know about airsoft, you should be able to find here. I hope this helps.

1- hop up is the thing that lets yo adjust the spin on the BBs. Basically, its to keep the BBs from curving when they shoot.
2- scope rings hold the scope onto the scope rail, which is mounted to the gun.
