If police were not allowed to carry firearms or wear body armor would the crime rate drop?

I mean if getting rid of Americas nuclear arsenal, downsizing the military and shutting down missile defence systems will somehow keep the country safe from her enemies then shouldn’t it also make sense that disarming the police and taking away their body armor would end crime?

Quite the opposite would happen.
If you disarm the Police and take away their body armor, the crime rate will skyrocket.

no, the police would be in greater danger.
there is an old saying: when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
Now I ask you, do the criminals who use illegal hand guns, worry about getting a permit? no
Do the criminals who rob convenience stores worry about getting a firearms class? no
Tell the Government to stop regulating and start managing their own store.

doing that for the united states will keep the united states from pushing others around like a bully thus making them into enemies.
getting rid of pretty much all the laws except for ones against theft and violence will do the same for crime.
