If Russia decided to start arming Hamas with military jets/weapons would Israel halt their attack? ?

I mean Israel gets most of their weapons from the US, and it’s always been rather one sided because Israel has a tremendous amount of military arms, jets/tanks in the area while the other countries have very few. But if Russia decided to arm Hamas, Iran with an equal amount of weaponry, would Israel continue the war knowing they would have a much higher probability of losing.

Russia is already arming Hamas with their weapons.
Hamas used 2 types of rockets – "Qassam" and "Grad".
The Grad rocket is a rocket coming from Iran who get it from Russia.
Hamas has been attacking Israel with all they have and Israel didn’t react for a long time. If Hamas got more advanced weapons.. well, what can I say – People then would finally see that it’s not the amount of people killed that counts, but the intention of the organization, as Hamas openly admitted they seek to kill every Israeli.
If Russia armed Hamas with far more advanced weapons, then it would only give Israel even more justification to attack back. Israel would of course continue, because Israel seeks to stop Hamas from shooting at its civilians. If Israel stopped, Hamas would still continue their offensive, so I don’t see a reason for Israel to stop.
Before the entire operation took place, Israel requested a ceasefire numerous times and didn’t attack back, but issued warnings. Even during the operation, Hamas kept shooting on Israeli civilians Israel warned Hamas that if they don’t stop, Israel will enter Gaza with ground military forces to stop Hamas. There you have it.

I think it would all boil down to who would back Israel? I hope the US backs off so Russia won’t get involved…I don’t think any of Europeans or the US want to get caught up in what would be an extended wide scale war across all of the Middle East.

Are you kidding? The US hasn’t supported Israel much at all. In fact they have helped their enemies. God himself is the one who helps Israel. And I don’t think they will stop because of Russia or anyone.

Uhmm … I hope you know that Israel is backed up by almost all the western countries, including the US. If Russia would give military help to Hamas, Israel would get military help from all the western countries. WWIII would be imminent. Nobody will intervene in this conflict, and I kinda doubt it will last much longer.

No they would step it up.
Israel is fighting for their right to exist.
If Russia started openly backing Israel, they would have no choice but to take the Gaza back. Russia backing Hamas is saying the Russia wants to exterminate the Jews and wipe them off the face of the earth. That is the issue.
The Jews will die fighting for their land and have stated so many times. I fully support Israel.

Russia supplied the arab nations in every war from 1948 until now, and each time the arabs lost.
It is not the quality of weapons but the intelligent use of them and good leadership: see Viet Nam 1950-76, China 1930s/40s, Cuba 1959, USSR 1941-45, Finland 1939-43.
Israel will win because to lose means the literal annihilation of the population and so they will fight hard, the arabs know that they can come back another day and it is not a matter of life and death so they will lose.
So the answer is no.

yes,but russia wouldnt do that,they are closer to israel than to hamas even though they where betrayed in september 2008

Name any real reason why Russia now would give weapons to Hamas?
And even if Palestine had some normal weapons, Israel still would fight with them.It’s a question of survival.
Russia is not the only country which produses "Grad" systems (for example Iran either does it).:

Russia supplied Iraq with modern weapons for many years. The Russians are now supplying Iran with advanced weapons. But the terrorists can’t fly jets. The jets won’t hold the women and children the terrorists hide behind.
