1. Rifle should be chambered in a readily available caliber
2. Rifle should be easy to field strip and maintain
3. Should have a good supply of magazines
4. Replacement parts readily available

I would go for an m4 because they are accurate and compact plus they are very easy to find and you can get replacment parts very easy to find but yeah I would get an m4

Saiga manufactured weaponry.
The best rifles have wells for one-handed magazine exchanges.
Non-well Saiga products require two hands to fit magazines and
some folks buy additional hardware to assist process. Custom
work has transformed some rifles into machine-pistols. Writer
wants to build magazine-fed 12 Gage shotgun semi-auto pistol
using gunsmith services. I like the throw weight and spread.
