Is it true that Obama wants to cut back on our military spending, weapons research and throw away a bunch of?
weapons and defense systems? Would he even have such power over the military to demand such drastic things?
The other superpower countries will continue expanding their military spending and continue to develop new weapons technology while we would be decreasing spending? WTF?

How much more weaponry do we need to develop? We and Russia already have enough to make the entire planet uninhabitable, when the need finally arises…

Yes, but it’s OK, he’s going to talk to our enemies.

also outlaw guns from the honest Americans so the criminals do not get shot at when they shoot others.

I don’t believe he himself has the power to do this. Congress is the one who votes on this stuff…he just signs the bills. I hope he decides to bring the troops home instead of killing them for his own gains

yeah he has teh power, and its not drastic at all, you americans have way too much weapons in store. the only problem with publiccally doing it i would say is taht america isn’t th emost popular country anymore..

Yep. Why do we need to be pouring all this money into the military industrial complex?

Yes, but don’t worry, he will have Russia protect us from our enemies.

Democrats like to historically spend on little projects that make the government bigger…republicans like to spend on big projects that make their wallets bigger. So yeah, he will probably cut military spending regardless of what he promises during the campaign…you have to pay back those who put you into office. To do this he and his appointed members can cut and redirect spending.

Yes. But not to worry, I am sure his vigorous, take no prisoners style diplomacy will surely win the day. Right?

Just think of the money you could have to spend on health care if you had more friends and less enemies. Worth the effort!
How would you survive with only enough nukes to destroy the earth just 10 times over and not 20?

If you want to know, READ. that is the best advice i can give you. But let me also put in my opinion. If there is one thing we NEED to do is cut back on military spending. So far all that money spent has proved one thing, nothing. If we focused more money on meaningful things that add to the prosperity of our culture and society rather than the might of our military, think how much better that would be? hmm and in case you were thinking of rebutting against this question, think about this. You can still be prepared to defend yourself with a stick but the mosquito can always slip through. And I would like to think our lives can revolve around something else other than where our army is at any given moment. Enough is enough.

Yes.
He wants to Jimmy Carterize the military.

He wants to dismantel our Nukes! Then he wants to go and hug all our enemys and become friends……… Last time a liberal down-sized our military (Clinton) our GI’s were on food stamps. Most of our bases are ghost towns now. We are really going to be skrewed next time an enemy enters America, well atleast California and New York with their flower children, peace, love crap- the Southwest and Midwest will have their guns… Obama will be responsible for the complete destruction of America.
December 31st, 2009 at 7:58 am
Yes, Obama would do just that. The guy is conceited, self-centered dogs**t.

The President has the power to reduce the size of the military. People who want to reduce the size of the military usually are a)ignorant about history and b)think they live in the world of Shoots and Ladders.

On the eve of his retirement , President Eisenhower warned Americans to "Beware The Military-Industrial Establishment". That was when? 1958?
He meant Military Maniacs and Weapons Manufacturers. In the half-century since then, those people have taken over the US economy to the degree where military expenditure now outstrips civil spending; and the US now possesses more weaponry THAN THE REST OF THE WORLD PUT TOGETHER.
The US public are regularly given fabricated excuses, "enemies" are made of nations which simply want to exercise their freedoms without US interference.
The US does not need to seek out enemies. It makes them. As a Brit, I like Americans; I’m not any kind of enemy. But even a friend can see that successive US administrations have all backed this policy of instigating wars as a means of sustaining employment in US arms factories.
If Obama, or anyone else, can bring about a reduction in US arms spending, it will be to the benefit not only of American citizens, but to World Peace as well.
Just as a "frinstance"; right now, Mad Dog Cheney is touring former Soviet satellite counties, offering US support against Russia.Asker says WTF? Well, sir, I ask WTF is that Rottweiler doing there, on the eve of an election?

All Democrats want this country’s military to be soft.
