Is the classic M16 still in use by military forces?
Is the classic Colt M16 assault rifle still in use by many military forces in the world or has it been largely replaced by the smaller/compact M4 carbine? Anyway I guess the M4 would be easier to carry and handle maybe not jam as much.

Alot of people still carry the M16. Its not the "classic" m16, but its usually the M16A4, which is a good weapon. The M4 is EXACTLY the same, just smaller, so whoever says one is crap and the other is better is a moron. I do like the m4 for its size, but its no better or worse as a weapon than the M16.

The M-16 was a piece of crap and replace by the M-4 (much better) The M-14 was the best!

No, alot of them are using the SCAR or other weapons platforms. They still use the M4 for some roles, but mostly have moved on.
Nobody still uses the M16 anymore. It’s an old weapon and has been improved enough on that most armies wouldn’t consider it.

Yes , with a variety of modifications . The Old Marine is right about the venerable and reliable M-14 !

The M16A4 is still used in our Army. Many folks are still carrying them in Iraq today. We tease them about "their musket".

Yup. It is still in use. The cav scouts in my unit use them. As for one being better than the other….personal preference. Their inner mechanics are exactly the same.
