Is there an example of government gone bad, when firearms have been removed from civilian use?

What is your ideology of firearm use, and why?
Should every day people carry them, or should only military & enforcement personnel carry them; why?

Give detailed explanations of your reasons, and please give me credible links for my first question?

It’s in the constitution that we are allowed to have firearms. Whoever wants em has em already. If we suddenly got all of them removed well that would be great, but there will always be that one guy who kept his and shot up something.

Yes, there are examples, but they are all very old (pre World War 2). Nowadays, the government has enough bombs and missiles that firearms in civilian hands would not be a problem.

My opinion is that only law enforcement personnel should be carrying guns. That is the way it is in every civilized country in the world besides the US, and all these countries have a far lower crime rate than we do. The idea that we should arm civilians to prevent crime is about as ridiculous as saying we should give peaceful countries nuclear bombs to prevent war. No one benefits from a proliferation of weapons except the gun manufacturers, which try to convince the public that it is in their interest so that they can make more money.

    I reference the following:
The Holocaust, where Nazi Germany confiscated all the firearms owned by German Jews, then shipped millions of them off to be killed.

Pol Pot, Cambodia, citizens firearms were confiscated and Pol Pot declared a reign of piece, then over 10 million of his citizens were hacked to pieces by death squads, and millions more thrown in jail as political prisoners.

South Africa, White government outlaws firearm ownership by blacks, then sent squads of armed police in to black areas to kill and arrest "Political dissenters".

Great Britain, Handgun ownership banned, and violent crime rate jumps over 400% in 2 years. Increase not reported as Home Office decides to change reporting to only reporting SOLVED crimes where someone has been arrested and been found guilty and unsolved crimes are not counted as having occurred.

Australia, Handgun ownership banned and all handguns confiscated, violent crime rate jumps 85% in 6 months and continues to escalate.

These are just a few examples, there are thousands throughout history.
