No. When you get out of the service, those WEAPONS get reissued to the next Marine or Soldier.
In fact, when you change bases, standard issue weapons (M-16 or M9) are part of the UNIT/ BASE TO&E. SRT and Snipers’ weapons and equipment would be different as they are calibrated to the shooter at considerable expense to we the taxpayers but they would Not be going home with you after you got out of the service.
If you are asking if you get to keep your WEAPONS with you; normally Military WEAPONS are kept in the Armory when you are not in the field.

When my best friends brother died in Irag they sent his Boots Helmet and Gun… Its for the family they used it at the funeral and a big ceremony in town… Im not sure if it was the exact gun or not but it was a really big deal to them… Not a way to get a gun..

Nope. They never belong to you. You are merely allowed to use them temporarily.
