when is the military going to replace the M 16A2 that thing is old i know they have a better gun but when r they going to start using it

You mean with like, lets say the M4?
They are working on it, people have been using them since 2004

Well at the time these guns such as m16 and M4 carbine are the most effective combat weapons, and very easily/cheaply manufactured but they are very reliable and shoot well….. So for the time being they are just adding on to these guns….

they replaced them years ago, we now have the M4 and just replaced the sniper rifle with the new m110 semi automatic sniper rifle, we’re very up to date

They manufacture new weapons and remanufacture and send in for maintenance regularly. A design may be old, but that doesn’t mean the weapons you are carrying are that old. The M-16/M-4 family of weapons will likely remain in service for quite some time.
