Should President Obama abandon the military?

The United States doesn’t need an army, navy, marines, coast guard, etc, etc. It’s just like the 2nd Amendment — these things were implemented by the Founding Fathers over 2 centuries ago! Back then a military and guns were needed, but today we have no need for either.
Think of the money that could be saved — bring home every soldier worldwide! No more Bush wars, Afghanistan wars, etc. The money saved could be used to provide free health care and help us fight global warming.
President Obama is bringing the change that WE THE PEOPLE elected!

The Founding Fathers ™ had an abiding fear of a standing army. Perhaps they knew something. That’s why the US was never prepared when a war came.

And your question is not clever or funny or even remotely accurate. I know of no serious Democratic leaders asking for abandoning the military or even the second amendment. He has been in office an entire year and you have your guns and there are no plans in the works to take them. Get over it.

I think you are ignorant of how the vast majority of Americans love their military, and the strength of dominance. Past generations learned the lessons of isolationism, and if you knew anything about NATO, you would realize that it exists to prevent, forever, the rise of another German Reich. Our miltary complex supports huge investments in our economy, and millions of jobs in the private sector. Get an education and lay off Ideology. Better yet, give something to your Country and join the military for one enlistment. No…I didn’t think so.

Where in the hell did you come with that idea? Yes we would save a lot of money but we would be taken over by other counties. I partly agree with you about saving money by not fighting these wars not for your reasoning but because of the political correctness way we are fighting it. And because of that you will be long dead before the war ends. Now if it was fought like we did in WW11, it would of been over long ago..
