How could I get in the military with bad eyesight?

January 19th, 2011 by eranio

My eyes haven’t really ever been the best throughout my life time. I’m 16, and my left eye was what they called a "Lazy eye" and now that I’ve gotten older, it’s gotten a lot better. Not perfect, really, but better and sometimes when I’m watching shows or playing games, etc, my left eye would almost come in to focus and I could see part of whatever I’m watching with my left eye. I believe, if I’m right, my left eye is now 20/60 and my right eye is 20/40 or something. I don’t think I’ll ever be out in the battlefield in say Afghanistan or something, I’d like to be.. But I’m sure it’s not that great at all, I just wanna feel like I’ve done something for my country. Now, me with bad eyesight: What kind of, I guess you’d say, career could I have in the military? Maybe a medic or something? But I don’t know anything about that. I don’t know which branch I wanna join, either. I’ve mostly been thinking USMC or the Army. If I had a job in the Army or USMC that doesn’t require shooting, etc, could I still rank up and would I be required to take some kind of physical training (I’m pretty sure everyone would have to do that, I’m just making sure what kind of physical training!) and training in firearms? (e.g. Being able to hold maybe a pistol or something for protection if I were at a base in Afghanistan). Also, what kind of eyesight would you need to join the military, anything specific?

December 26th, 2010 by eranio

Do we only use the m4 for more compact areas

also I was reading in wikipeida and it said the m4 was replacing the m16

Does this mean it replaced it in general or is it only used more in cqc urban combat Afghanistan

Do we only use the m4 for cqc and urban combat

Do you believe the US military should be listed as a terror organisation?

November 2nd, 2010 by eranio

The US has killed innocents the world over. Nuclear weapons in Japan, terror and torture in Iraq, terror bombings of innocents in Afghanistan, funding dictatorships in Latin AMerica, mass murder in Vietnam. They continue to possess WMD, develop horrifc weapons and tell the worl it can do what it wants. I think the US is a terror state and its military should be listed as a terror group and have all funds cut off. Do you agree?

Would my WW Two father be embarassed over the war the USA Military is fighting today?

October 11th, 2010 by eranio

The Greatest Generation from WW Two beat real tough countries (Germany and Japan) but the military of today can’t beat rag tag people who fight like the flint stones did a million years ago. Look at Iraq and Afghanistan. Over 4 and one half years and we can’t beat people with basic weapons. We beat Japan and Germany in 39 months. My father must be crying in his grave.

Peace Officer Perspectives On 2nt Amendment Militia?

October 6th, 2010 by eranio

If the US Government certified present America based private security firms contracted for present service in Afghanistan and Iraq as Militia that Second Amendment affirms can bear
military value arms what are peace officer perspectives on prospect of a military value weapon recall being issued to all civilians not Certified Militia, Peace Officers, or US Government? Military value weapons being those that differ
from the hunting firearms that individual state laws regulate.
Military value weapons are those firearms that the US Government would regulate by use of Second Amendment,
which in the hands of persons deemed ‘Hostiles’ represent both a violation to the language of the Second Amendment and law of the United States of America. Persons deemed
‘Hostiles’ would, like in drug cases, be subject to assets frozen and siezed. Militia assisting in the recovery of military value weapons would recieve a percentage of assets as have drug
property served law enforcement previously.

How many of you fundies that think Islam is threatening to take over the West are enlisting in the military?

October 1st, 2010 by eranio

I mean you’d probably do more good in Afghanistan than on Y!A. I’m just saying.

BTW, as an OIF Veteran, I can tell you there’s nothing better than actually saying you did *something* to help, even if it was just manning a .50 Caliber machine gun on the roof of a humvee in a zone rich with IEDs and garden-variety whack-jobs.

Contact your local recruiter!!!

Can enlisted military personal purchase their own weapons?

September 28th, 2010 by eranio

Im about to go into the Air Force and go into Security Forces. I used to do a lot of stuff for my local PD and i noticed a few officers had purchased their own pistols (a S&W M&P) Ive also heard of a few troops in iraq and Afghanistan using their own cash to fix/upgrade their weapons. My question is are Security forces personal allowed to purchase their own sidearms for on duty use? Ive heard horror stories about the M9, which is the current issued weapon for SF and when i held one it didn’t feel right in my hand.
please allow me to clarify im not dissing the M9. It is a nice sidearm i just have different preferances.

Does a military solution stop, contain, or provoke terror?

September 26th, 2010 by eranio

There are 180 countries, 7 Billion people (1,6 Billion islamic) on this earth, half of them don’t know, how to survive the next day. What makes anybody think, that terror, as outlet for frustration, could be contained by a couple of guns and tanks. Never, not once in all of human history, has a military solution lasted in any conflict, if the heart of the people wasn’t in it. So, where does the Pentagon get the intelligence, that their big budget actions improve anything? From Korea, Vietnam, Angola, Nigeria, Somalia, liberia, Palestinia, Balkans, Afghanistan, Haiti to Iraq and many more, has any of this conflicts really been solved by the military or despite the military?

Is the american military scared and intimidated by North Korea?

September 20th, 2010 by eranio

DPRK could own Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan in a war big time.
Their military is huge and they have a gigantic supply of weapons. Also have enough plutonium for 5 nuclear warheads – 3x more than you used during WW2.

So… are the american military petrified of North Korea?

Why doesn't President Obama just phase out the military?

September 12th, 2010 by eranio

Our nation is having financial difficulties and we need to eliminate all but the most essential programs.

The United States doesn’t need an army, navy, marines, coast guard, etc, etc. It’s just like the 2nd Amendment — these things were implemented by the Founding Fathers over 2 centuries ago! Back then a military and guns were needed, but today we have no need for either.

We don’t need a nasa either. We were already first to go to the moon. Lets let some other countries be the first at something, okay? There is no reason Americans should always be first.

Think of the money that could be saved — bring home every soldier worldwide! No more Bush wars, Afghanistan wars, etc. The money saved could be used to provide free health care and help us fight global warming.

President Obama is bringing the change that WE THE PEOPLE elected!

If not the M4, then what gun for the military?

September 4th, 2010 by eranio

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091011/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_afghanistan_weapons_failures

The article indicates that the M4 has been failing at the worst times during heated battles. If so, then what gun should our military be issued?
@shadow: would an AK fail under similar circumstances?
The Galil combines reliability and accuracy.

Why is the best military in the world (strongest and best funded) not able to control the Middle East?

August 30th, 2010 by eranio

Iraq
Afghanistan
Iran
Pakistan..

With all the money that is spent every year on defense/military budgets, why are we unable to bring some order and structure to the area?

Why are small groups of guys running around in mountains with towels on their heads and inferior weapons able to hold off the U.S. military?

Should we use the Chinese military for operations in Afghanistan since the wages and costs are less expensive?

August 25th, 2010 by eranio

Now that an Obama-military union is starting to infest America, should we outsource the military war operations before liberals in the military jeapordize our security?

I can imagine the liberal USA military workers union now

What good are liberals in the military?

WAAHH guns are evil and should be banned…

WAAHH these boots are heavy, am I entitled to 10 minute break now?

WAAHH the work conditions in Afghanistan are against the law, we need flat screen tv’s, air conditionted deserts, and a water break every 10 minutes!

WAAHH the drill sergeants yell to loud!

What do you think about the World News Report that came out on ABC?

August 21st, 2010 by eranio

About the rifle scopes used in military warfare that were inscribed with quotes from the Bible?
What it is insinuating is that God is killing all the good and bad and innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan

Does President Obama want to eliminate the military and just have Hillary Clinton to speak to our enemies?

August 16th, 2010 by eranio

He wants to get arid of nuclear weapons, why not just eliminate the military once the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars are over? What happens when the USA is the only nation without nuclear weapons?
