Let me understand this better. All marines and soldiers receive weapons training in all military weapons (M249, M-4, M209 ect…) during basic training. Then non-infantry marines attend MCT after bootcamp to get further training in all military weapons; while non-infantry soldier’s go to their intelligence training. The weapons training received in MCT is not as ((detailed)) as the weapons training an infantryman would receive, be it marines or army; because their not grunt’s. But is this training even close to what infantrymen receive? Can somebody explain the difference in training course a non-infantry marine receives verses the training an infantryman receives.
So they basically receive the same training as an infantryman; only infantrymen’s training is longer.

My dad was worried that my husband would be able to bring home military weapons. He called just to tell me not to let him (we had 3 very small boys preoccupied with being in the army).
I assured my dad that they wouldn’t allow military weapons to be brought home.
The above was right after 9/11.
Then right before the war, hubby got deployed with a non deployable unit (hahah in itself) and dh’s honorary uncle who served with dh’s dad was also out of country. I sent an email saying wouldn’t it be funny if you ended up together over there.
Sure enough I got an email that they were together.

Im looking into a 11b infantry position, my goal is to be in the 82nd airborne. im told its up to the army as to where i end up of course, but on top of my other question. is there anyway to improve my chances of getting into the 82nd airborne? im 19, and im incredibly healthy and athletic, (not trying to brag, just giving the info needed) im trying to be the best soldier i possibly can be.
Whats something that can increase my paychecks? i want to get the most and give the most into my future profession. i have a year and a half of college under my belt. i dont know if that helps.
Thanks So much, OH! and addition, these are all prob questions for my recruiter, though, does the military provide scopes and flashlights on there firearms? thanks!!!

i just ordered an accuracy international arctic warfare rifle. it is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. bolt action, 10 round magazine.
my only problem is, i have no idea where to even start looking when it comes to finding the right scope. i am going to be shooting at distances up to and beyond 1000 yards. it is not competition, i am going to be shooting at a live target (medium – large game). what type of scopes do you fellas in the Marines, Army, etc use when it comes to "sniper" rifles?
k buddy you can try answering the question i asked with an answer and not questions…but for the sake of argument yes i am extremely accurate with iron sighted weapons.

I think the guns are technologically advanced, and in the case of the F2000, greatly superior to the M4′s currently jamming on our troops in their fight for civility in the middle east. The F2000 is a 5.56 chambered weapon, that has a longer barrel than the M4, but is much shorter. It uses M16 magazines, so it would fit right in with current weapons.
Or, thanks to the way the contracts work, is there no way for troops to recquisition their commanders to let them have better guns, even if they paid out of pocket for them? I’d consider my rifle worth investing in.
I have seen group photos of guys in my recruiter’s office that have weapons that i doubt are commonly issued. And it was the recruiter in the photos, not just a generic promotional photo.
I know SF are well known for giving the military beaurocrats the finger, and using whatever guns they feel best get the job done (H&K’s SCAR-L). Are they the only guys that get a choice in guns?
I’ll be doing 89D EOD in the Army, btw.

india has billions of dollars military weapons deals this year alone.more than billions deal with russia alone .the total would be india spent billions on military weapons this year.while maintaining the extreme high number of army.on the other hand, even with booming economy the ordinary indian poor doesn’t even find food.indian children hover around near grabage cans looking for any left overs still the indian government has least concern for poor.some indian states have so much poor people thats its equal to euthopia.pakistan the india so called worst enemy this year deceased military budget and also reduced army number by 50,000 in step to show to india military race is not good but still india is continuing building weapons, military.warfare while its people die with hunger.my question to indians and other people too shouldn’t india follow pakistan steps that is decrease military budget and reduce army? or india should continue its military race because china is building up army while its people are starving.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7674547.stm
and shouldn’t usa and west stop selling weapons to india and tell her to improve life of poor?

My eyes haven’t really ever been the best throughout my life time. I’m 16, and my left eye was what they called a "Lazy eye" and now that I’ve gotten older, it’s gotten a lot better. Not perfect, really, but better and sometimes when I’m watching shows or playing games, etc, my left eye would almost come in to focus and I could see part of whatever I’m watching with my left eye. I believe, if I’m right, my left eye is now 20/60 and my right eye is 20/40 or something. I don’t think I’ll ever be out in the battlefield in say Afghanistan or something, I’d like to be.. But I’m sure it’s not that great at all, I just wanna feel like I’ve done something for my country. Now, me with bad eyesight: What kind of, I guess you’d say, career could I have in the military? Maybe a medic or something? But I don’t know anything about that. I don’t know which branch I wanna join, either. I’ve mostly been thinking USMC or the Army. If I had a job in the Army or USMC that doesn’t require shooting, etc, could I still rank up and would I be required to take some kind of physical training (I’m pretty sure everyone would have to do that, I’m just making sure what kind of physical training!) and training in firearms? (e.g. Being able to hold maybe a pistol or something for protection if I were at a base in Afghanistan). Also, what kind of eyesight would you need to join the military, anything specific?

I’m in the Army and my unit is buying them from DPMS. It has the collapseable buttstock of an M4 and comes with 2 of the usual 30 round magazines. Other then that it is completely stock, no attachments yet. I live in OR but am looking at moving back to CA. I just don’t wanna get rid of my rifle to do it lol.

A U.S. helicopter was shot down and crashed north of Baghdad on Wednesday, the military said after initially stating that the chopper made a "hard landing." All aboard were safely evacuated by a second helicopter and all had brown stains on the rear of their uniforms.
At least seven U.S. helicopters have crashed or been forced down under hostile fire since Jan. 20. Military officials have said that militants are increasingly targeting helicopters amid the buildup of U.S. troops in Baghdad, firing simultaneously with an assortment of weapons from different directions. The Army and Marines admit the insurgents are amazing. They ( Insurgents) never give up. The Iraq war may end up like another Vietnam.

And, for example, let us imagine an army which consists of four hundred thousand nations, and each nation requires different provisions, uses different weapons, wears different uniforms, undergoes different drill, and is discharged from its duties differently. If this army and camp has a miracle-working commander who on his own provides all those different nations with all their different provisions, weapons, uniforms, and equipment without forgetting or confusing any of them, then surely the army and camp show the commander and make him loved appreciatively. In just the same way, the spring camp of the face of the earth in which every spring a newly recruited Divine army of the four hundred thousand species of plants and animals are given their varying uniforms, rations, weapons, training, and demobilizations in utterly perfect and regular fashion by a single Commander-in-Chief Who forgets or confuses not one of them -to whatever extent the spring camp of the face of the earth is vaster and more perfect than that human army, -by means of the measure or scale of the military science that you study- it makes known to the attentive and sensible, its Ruler, Sustainer, Administrator, and Most Holy Commander, causing wonderment and acclaim, and makes Him loved and praised and glorified.
What do you think about it?

Is there really a 2011 replacemnent competition for the m4 in the army
what advantages does the m4 have over the m16
did the m4 completely replace the m16 throughout the US military
I heard we use both of them 50/50 but do we use the m4 for urban combat in afghanaistan firefights but do we use the m16 for more open firefights

1. Can you have facial hair? I mean not like big burly ass shit but like a couple days non shaven or is it always shit shave shower and shoot?
2. Do any parts of the the modern military still use any form of the M14? I don’t mean like a sniper either, just like a regy combat rifle. kinda like the dude from Blackhawk Down.
3. Do you get to chose what weapon you use? I know you cant choose your MOS always in USMC but you can in Army, i just mean like a specific gun for your MOS.

I have been thinking and planning to join the military, and the Army and the Marine Corps are the branches I’ve been thinking about. My goal of joining is to become a firearms expert. I want to learn about weaponry, and serving for my country at the same time motivates me to do my best. My question is which of the two branches should I join? I know it’s my choice, but can anyone tell me about thier experience in the military, and the training of the two branches about weaponry? The pros and cons of each. Thank you in advance for helping.

If new buyers are looking for .300 win mag rifles, looks like now’s the time to buy. Surplus .300, anyone? Will that happen? I think it would be pretty nice to get 7 dollars a box on this usually expensive ammunition.
Do you agree or disagree with this decision? What cartridge do you think would work well?
