I was wondering what the best gun so far at least is best to limit the use to even replace the M16/M4 Assault Rifle for the US Military. I know the XM8 Assault Rifle was stopped being developed in 2005. I also know that the SCAR-H/SCAR-L Assault Rifle is being tested or in somewhat to decent use by the US Army Ranger 75th Regiment. I know that the Bushmaster/Remington ACR (Adaptive Combat Rifle) is being developed ( at least that was what it said when I goolged searched several sites about the ACR at least a month ago) and might soon enter testing when completed if still being developed. Also I know there are other guns that might be tested and maybe come into limited use like maybe the M416 I think and that there is also the light machine gun in use by the US Military which I think is called the M249 Light Machine Gun.
P.S. can you tell me if the SCAR-H/SCAR-L is in use and if it is the US Army Ranger 75th Regiment offically using it and using it instead or the M16/M4 or at least around half and half for both guns and also can you tell me if the ACR is still being developed and if it is not being developed is it rejected and forgotten like the XM8 Assault Rifle or is it being tested and maybe in limited to decent usage by the US Military.

I’ve been seeing some stuff about the new 6.8mm, and 6.5mm assault rifle rounds. Supposedly they’re very good.
Do you think the US military doesnt adopt this as the standard round, because it isnt as good as advertised, or because its too expensive? With the search for a new standard rifle of the US military, like the SCAR, and Bushmaster ACR, I would have thought that the Barrett REC7 would be one of the more likley canidates if the round was as good as the makers say.

I asked this question before and I want to clarify that I want a Colt MILITARY rifle, NOT a Colt civilian rifle.
I know that Bushmaster has the option to buy their military models in semi-auto only configuration, so I want to know if Colt will do the same. I am not impressed with their civilian market products and would really like their military rifle, even in semi-auto only.

To all of you who are saying Bushmaster did not have any government contracts, click on that. Come on people, do a little research before you post something.
Also compare these two:

So to those of you who keep saying their military rifles are the same as their civilian rifles, NO THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!!! Seriously, do a little research before you post.

What is the difference between the Remington ACR and the Bushmaster ACR? I heard that the Remington ACR is designed for the military and will be select fire, and the Bushmaster will be for civilians and will be semi-auto only.

was looking for something not overly bulky and with the look and feel of an m4. i am new to hunting and am in the army, wanted something thats similar to what i work with so that i can practice at the range and hunt with the same weapon as well. i figure the more closely it resembles an m4 the better off i will be. is it an appropriate weapon for hunting deer or boar. i am also interested in the .450 by bushmaster as it has a similar look and feel to the m4 could you tell me the difference in range stopping power and what would be the best. thanx el hefe

I live in WV and own a AR-15 Bushmaster, Tactical .12 ga Mossburg & other weapons. How do I sell them legally? I have a military spinal cord injury and can no longer enjoy shooting sports and hunting. Most are long guns, but I also have a Colt 1991-A1 .45 semi. and a Rossi S & W J frame Stainless Steel .38. All are like new condition and well cared for. Do I need to have a dealer sell them and give up a commission?

Anybody know? I heard it could be an H&K or a Bushmaster.
I thought they discontinued the XM8
