U.S. military vs. America's gun owners, who would win?

May 16th, 2010 by eranio

If the U.S. government in the future became tyrannical, abusive, and violated the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, and declared martial law, and began to form a oppressive police state over the American people. There are an estimated 300 million citizens in the United States, not including the illegals and foreigners.
There is an estimated 198 million firearms in the private hands of citizens, and half of the population in America owns at least 1 gun by household. If the U.S. military was sent to take complete control over the cities and to forcefully confiscate the firearms of all citizens, and crush any dissidents and protesters. If the U.S. military and the gun owners of America went to war against each other, who would win?

All of the branches, reserves, national guard, and special forces units of the American military would number around 6 million. All the gun owners of America, which would be around half of our estimated population would be 150 million citizens.

Do you think the 2nd Amendment indicates a right to bear arms for all citizens or for the militia mentioned?

April 25th, 2010 by eranio

The supreme court has on its a docket this issue apparently (heard it on NPR) I was wondering what the masses thought.
I personally am going to buy a concealed carry firearm because of it. I am a military officer have very adequate training in use and discretion. I would say that the proper trainging is implied and that all citizens that have such training should be allowed to carry. What do you think?

Is there a legal sniper rifle you can own in the U.S?

April 23rd, 2010 by eranio

Is there a legal sniper rifle you can own in the U.S? usually i have a lot of information on military but this has been a weak point. Does the united states allow citizens to own military style rifles, sniper rifles with a exotic weapon permit or is it all out banned?

Why are there people in the free country the United States of America questioning the Right To Bear Arms?

April 11th, 2010 by eranio

Knowing the history and why this nation was founded, how can someone seriously question whether US citizens should be allowed to own firearms.

Looking at the history of the of the US, it seems the people who found it were radical people who were not going to let even the British military take their freedom and push them around.. They wanted their citizens to be able to defend yourself from anybody who tried to take away your liberty pursuit of happiness and most importantly your life.

And if Americans today had this attitude, the Crips, Bloods, and every mafia would have been wiped out long time ago.

What do you think?

How can military members serve under Obama when you swore to uphold the constitution?

February 14th, 2010 by eranio

Okay so I know this totally seems like a trolling question but I’m serious. Obama has said the constituion is seriously flawed and doesn’t say what the country must do for citizens. Many of his policies and things he is doing are also unconstitutional.

I believe all military members are sworn to uphold the constitution, how can you serve under Obama and uphold the constitution? Also, totally hypothetical right here but if Obama tried to take guns away from citizens where would you side on the issue, with the citizens or with Obama?

Would you feel safer if guns for citizens became illegal?

February 12th, 2010 by eranio

Taking into consideration that there have been at least 8 mass shootings in the US in the past month, would you want to restrict guns for only the police and military? I certainly would. If I was close to someone who was depressed, lost their job, or having relationship problems & I knew they had a gun, I would be worried during this time…
I’ll let the community choose the best vote. Its sad that the "law abiding" citizens are the ones with the guns that are going on rampages and killing innocent people.

What do American gun nuts think will happen if the government takes the guns away?

February 11th, 2010 by eranio

When I mention guns are bad on here, the American gun nuts start ranting about the governments going to kidnap them in their sleep and do something to them or walk into their house and do something to them (they’re not sure what, but it’s bad).

What will happen? Will your sons and daughters in the military and government suddenly decide one day that average citizens should be sent to the coal mines? Will they lock you in prison while they sit in your house and laugh maniacally?

And what in your mind is the motivation for the government to turn on the people?

What is up with the infestation of the u.s.a military with gigantic guns swarming Haiti?

February 5th, 2010 by eranio

Religiously speaking, this has nothing to do with religion but I like this Y/A category.
As if the photos weren’t enough, now I heard they didn’t even bring any supplies but are there for ‘security’ in a place where no one was complaining of security issues.

One poor lady making a repeat visit to a hospital to visit her daughter was turned away by the marines.

I think this "show of unnecessary power" by the marines is a total disgrace to the Citizens of America!

What are your thoughts and views? I am interested. Thanks.
Peachie, I have done much research on the military. Years! Some are far from the wonderful people you think they are!.

Do Americans really believe if the government takes the guns away it means they’re next step is fascism?

February 3rd, 2010 by eranio

Do Americans really believe their brother and neighbors in the military would turn on them?

And what would be the point to becoming a fascism? The government wouldn’t want that any more than the citizens. So why do people constantly refer to that ridiculous reason to have guns?

Ps, if or some bizarre reason the military did attack the general populace, a bunch of obese people with hand guns will not stop them.

If there are people in the US crazy enough to believe this, should they still be allowed to own a gun? Even when they talk about shooting up congress?

How likely is it that this post-9/11 military-industrial structure might harm Americans?

December 13th, 2009 by eranio

the wiretaps, centcom databases factioning citizens as terror suspects, secret prisons, FEMA camps, corporate mercinaries, legalized torture, federalizing local police, merging police and military, gun confiscation, media censorship…just the tip of the iceberg
or is it improving our lives by leaps and bounds and we should be grateful to whoever makes those decisions?

WHY did our own military take guns and leave people w/o self protection ???

December 4th, 2009 by eranio

HURRICANE KATRINA>>>WHY did you turn against your constitution and WE THE PEOPLE when you are not legally obligated to protect us . A national guardsmen made the comment, it was surreal and he couldn’t believe it was happening in his own country. It was also extremely ILLEGAL by our constitution, and if it were my gun, I would not just being suing law enforcement down there, I would sue the national guard. (government) for violating my 2nd amendment rights.
Politics and government have replaced the patriotism in americans ?? and the constitution and we the people ???? Just want you to know what happened if you dont know, and question WHY it happened and also WHY are all our military being maimed, and more going in ? We dont have enough soldiers here to protect our borders, or the citizens now. THINK,,why would a president want that ?

Gun-ban proponents: Do you advocate banning police & military guns too?

November 13th, 2009 by eranio

For those of you who advocate banning gun ownership, are you also advocating the banning of guns from police and military at the same time? If not, why?
I mean, removing the guns FROM the police & military.

Why would they need guns if all of the citizens had their guns already confiscated?
