Do you get gun rights/licenses after honorable Military service?

March 20th, 2011 by eranio

I’ve always wondered the answer to this question… If you have served in the U.S. Military and completed your service HONORABLY, do you get licenses that might be difficult for civilians to obtain for yourself? (Like the right to own/carry a handgun, last time i checked that was REALLY hard to obtain). It would make sense, right? You trained with one, you know about all the safety, you are a gun expert, you know how to do anything with one, and you were trusted with one in the defense of this nation. It just seems right. And does honorable military service also grant you the right/license to own a rifle/shotgun? I know you can’t keep your guns that you were issued because they are property of the U.S. Government, but can you be given to go off after your service and by your own guns (Handguns and Rifles/Shotguns)?

French Resistance- What weapons were used by civilians?

March 7th, 2011 by eranio

when the civilians attacked stuff, (keep in mind it’s around 1942), what weapons did they use?
I don’t think they’d have the technology available to the military, but more advanced than swords, daggers, archery i think.
so im a little confused.

Proposal for restricting firearms in America?

January 12th, 2011 by eranio

My Proposal:

Civilians must be banned from carrying all firearms that was designed or made after 1820.

Civilians must only be allowed to carry flintlock rifles/pistols, double barreled shotgun and crossbow for home defense

Pump action shotgun must be banned. Double barreled shotgun are limited to 1 per family

No hoarding of shotgun shells, every shell must be registered and each family are only entitled up to 10 shells.

Only Military/Federal/Law enforcement agencies are allowed to carry modern firearms

Help making America a safer place for our children! What do you guys think?

Why do people think civilians could never beat the military?

December 22nd, 2010 by eranio

If some insane battle broke out where the military turned on it’s own country, why do so many people think the civilians of the united states could never beat the military? I think that idea is downright absurd. Despite the militarys arsenal, civilians have access to 50 caliber firearms, among other destructive devices. Explosives? A local construction company may have access to some explosives powerful enough to destroy 10 city blocks. Tanks? Again, take a bulldozer, load up an automatic machine on it, armor plate it, and you have yourself a tank. It’s been done. Not to mention, there is an estimated 1,426,713 people serving on active duty today. Compare that to the estimated 304,095,000 people living in the country. The numbers are highly on our side. Let’s not forget our police forces, including federal agencies and their weaponry. Remember, the same companies who sell weapons to military may also sell them to civilian law enforcement.

Never underestimate the power of a militia consisting of millions of people in a time of distress.

What is your take on this? What are your counter arguments to mine?
Technically, the feds are civilian agencies, so they’d be on the civilians side in this hypothetical argument.
Do non civilians have Apache attack copters? Maybe not, but non civilians know how to build rocket launchers. At least some engineers do. UAV’s? Again, ask a non military engineer. People get the impression that civilians are all out of shape slobs that don’t know how to built a sand castle, let alone an explosive device.

How do you make a semi-automatic rifle like a civilian AR-15 into a fully automatic rifle?

November 13th, 2010 by eranio

I was wondering what specific mechanism makes the difference between a fully automatic M16a1 and an civilian AR-15? I know this it is now illegal for civilians to own fully auto weapons, but its curious how the military opted for semi or 3-round burst weapons instead of fully auto weapons like the M16a1 which is very useful when a soldier is outnumbered by the enemy.

Military Personal Are Below the US POVERTY LEVEL !!!!?

October 30th, 2010 by eranio

Most E5 and below Military Personal are living far below
the US Poverty Level…
NO, the Military DOES NOT give them everything…

The only thing the Military gives anyone (Single) is 3 Hots & a Cot, Medical, Rifle and Webgear, Bullets…MOS Training…

They MUST pay for everything else right from their First Issue
of Military Clothing in Basic/Boot Camp…plus any Hygiene
products that they might need…

When they get Married…The money that was going to the MessHall to feed him..is then given to him and his Family…
He/She must now pay to eat in a Messhall…
(Just shifted money from one place to another…)

As for Family MEDICAL…well they have what is called
Tri Care that the Military person has to pay for…
Most civilians would be screaming if they had to pay
the Co Pays that are required on this Medical Plan…
which covers next to nothing…

Which jobs in the Marine Corps receive weapons training besides Infantry?

October 22nd, 2010 by eranio

I’m enlisting soon and looking at my job options. I’m joining the reserves, and my recruiter told me there were no infantry slots available until 2012. I wanted infantry, but I’m fine choosing something else. I know every Marine is a rifleman, and everyone goes through MCT, but I want a job that receives weapons training at their MOS school and is around guns for the most part. Military Police, for example, but my recruiter also told me the MP field is starting to be replaced by civilians. Please help. Thank you!

Peace Officer Perspectives On 2nt Amendment Militia?

October 6th, 2010 by eranio

If the US Government certified present America based private security firms contracted for present service in Afghanistan and Iraq as Militia that Second Amendment affirms can bear
military value arms what are peace officer perspectives on prospect of a military value weapon recall being issued to all civilians not Certified Militia, Peace Officers, or US Government? Military value weapons being those that differ
from the hunting firearms that individual state laws regulate.
Military value weapons are those firearms that the US Government would regulate by use of Second Amendment,
which in the hands of persons deemed ‘Hostiles’ represent both a violation to the language of the Second Amendment and law of the United States of America. Persons deemed
‘Hostiles’ would, like in drug cases, be subject to assets frozen and siezed. Militia assisting in the recovery of military value weapons would recieve a percentage of assets as have drug
property served law enforcement previously.

Someone told me a European country arms everyone after Military Service? Is this true?

September 18th, 2010 by eranio

A friend told me that there is a country in Europe that requires Military Service from all civilians at the age of 18, and that after their service time is up, they are all issued a firearm. That way the majority of the country is armed and crime rates are close to 0%. Is this true or is he just telling a tall tale? And if so what country? He claimed Switzerland but a google search came up with nothing.

any mos in military for me or is military a bad idea for what im looking for?

September 12th, 2010 by eranio

ok im a senior in high school, im goin to college next year but after that i do wanna serve. initially, i was into aviation, then infantry, but as i think about it i really don’t know if i should because as much as i really want to learn how to use a rifle, learn survival techniques, work in a team and experience camaraderie, ever since i read up about Jimmy Massey and his story i’ve been doubting if i could actually take civilian lives without thinking twice about it. don’t get me wrong im all about fighting the enemy, but im guessing that in real war its not always black and white, you don’t always know who the enemy is or who the civilians are, so my question is what about medic? i wanna be in teh field, not doin paperwork on a base, but from what i’ve read about hospital corpsmen they aren’t allowed to shoot except in self-defense, and i would have no problem with killing terrorists. is it the same with army medics, would i not be shooting at people except in self-defense, when i know that the target is the enemy? not to mention i would like to be medic just for the sake of helping soldiers or marines. any other MOS’s come to mind which teach you how to use a firearm, and survival techniques, but have lower chances of killing civilians? would i be best off just sticking with coast guard?

oh and btw i mean no disprespect to people who are in combat MOS’s, im not suggesting it think any less of u because u may have killed civilians, i understand that its an unavoidable part of war, i just don’t know if i personally could take it.

What are the benefits of nuclear weapons?

September 7th, 2010 by eranio

Why would we ever resort to nuclear weapons when we could just use bombs? Both can and do destroy any military targets we want them to, why is it necessary to kill all of the civilians in the area as well as the entire environment while we’re at it?
Maybe I should have rephrased the question. I know the benefits of having nukes, what I meant to ask was what is the benefit of USING nukes.

do gun laws work?

August 30th, 2010 by eranio

Lets look at facts.
Switzerland has 2 million publically owned fire arms.
600,000 of which are assult rifles.
500,00 pistols.
every man between 21 and 32 years of age is given a M-57 assult rifle and ammo to keep at home. The Swiss government sells there old military rifles to civilians. The Swiss can boast one of the lowest crime rates in the world and in history. So why is violent crime so rare there and very dominant in countrys with many more gun laws. Gun laws work when it is required to own a gun!!! my source is the BBC if any body is wondering

What technology is being developed to reduce the need for lethal weapons?

August 24th, 2010 by eranio

Would you like to live in a place where dangerous weapons are only used for defense by the military and for recreation by civilians. Obviously some guns will be necessary to keep things even but I feel that little progress is being made in non-lethal defense technology. I don’t care if someone is considered a bad person; they still deserve a chance to live. There are not enough people that value life, so they ignore death and destruction and try to justify reckless attacks.

Do people who speak of revolution not realize today's disparity between .357s and F-22 Raptors?

August 22nd, 2010 by eranio

In the 1700s civilians and military personnel were pretty evenly matched (except cannons).

Today’s in-home firearms pale in comparison to the military’s arsenal.

Do people who state "revolution" think their weapons have ANY possible chance against that of the US military (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines)?

If all guns disappeared, would we achieve world peace?

August 19th, 2010 by eranio

If God was to make every single gun in the world disappear, whether it was owned by the military, government, police, civilians, or criminals. Would we finally achieve world peace?

Note: Politicians like Obama who believe in flower power are telling us that by disarming America and the rest of the world, we will achieve world peace.

Why do opponents of 2nd Amendment rights, think that armed civilians could not oppose "modern military might"?

August 17th, 2010 by eranio

Look what’s happening in Iraq…
The world’s mightiest army… the most technologically
advanced military in ten thousand years of human
civilization…
Is in the process of being humbled by a resistance movement
consisting of civilians who by and large, lack formal military training. (Notice that the enemy doesn’t even have uniforms
or ranks? Hell, even in Vietnam there was the North Vietnamese Army to contend with…)
Sooner or later, we will have to leave Iraq. Driven off by people
with the technology of, well… armed cilvilians!!!
In light of this, how can the libs continue to claim that the 2nd Amendment is "obsolete" as an anti-tyranny provision… that armed civilians with rifles, ect. couldn’t be at least a SERIOUS "thorn in the side" to a hypothetical tyrannical future gov’t here in the USA? (Or maybe they think modern Americans are so degenerate, that they couldn’t do as well as Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, ect. seem to be doing? I’d like to think better of Americans than that..!)
Oh, and I realize I mispelled "civilians". (I realize
that some pedantic liberal moonbat might
decide to deride my question for THAT
reason..!)
To "Smartybe.."
Thanks for equating me with Charlton
Heston! (Being a humble fellow really,
that comparison wouldn’t have come
to mind for me. But thanks anyway for equating me with the only REAL American EVER that was simultaneously a Hollywood actor. (Wait a minute, did I forgot John Wayne..?)
To "inapprop…"
Of course, the insurgents would call themselves crimefighters, not criminals.
The "crime" they are fighting, is our invasion
of their territory. And it WAS un unprovoked invasion, on our part! Whether or not it was
a crime… history will answer.
(OR do you think the insurgents consider themselves "villains" and rub their hands together cackling like "Dr. Evil" from the Austin Powers movies as they think up new schemes to "wrongfully" blow up American troops? I hope you’re smarter than that.)

What would happen if the Obama administration put a ban on buying/selling firearms?

August 4th, 2010 by eranio

Just curious to know, since that is exactly what Obama wants. I was reading about it, in an article. He is trying to get his weaponry law passed. So what do you think would happen if it became illegal for civilians to own/buy weapons/ammunition?

I believe it would cause a civil war, as it violated the 2nd amendment. All I can tell you is that a LOT of American soldiers are going to die, if the military were to get involved with this. (Assuming it even happens)

When will civilians be able to purchase the H&K 416 assault rifle?

I know that military and law enforcement agencies can purchase it now but i heard that in 2008, civilians will be able to purchase them.

How will it all end in Iraq?…With the death of bin Laden, a basic security in place of police and military?

July 28th, 2010 by eranio

These figures and deaths are continuing. What would satisfy victory in Iraq?

BAGHDAD, Iraq – A stunning new death count emerged Thursday, as Iraq’s health minister estimated 150,000 civilians have been killed in the war — about three times previously accepted estimates.

Moderate Sunni Muslims, meanwhile, threatened to walk away from politics and pick up guns, while the Shiite-dominated government renewed pressure on the United States to unleash the Iraqi army and claimed it could crush violence in six months.

After Democrats swept to majorities in both houses of the U.S. Congress and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld resigned, Iraqis appeared unsettled and seemed to sense the potential for an even bloodier conflict because future American policy is uncertain. As a result, positions hardened on both sides of the country’s deepening sectarian divide.

How is it going to end?

How would victory in Iraq be determined?

The signing of a piece of paper, by whom!

Do You Have Any Problems With Civilians Being Allowed Access to Military-Grade Weapons?

July 20th, 2010 by eranio

Even people in the NRA and support gun rights draw the line on military weapons for civilians.

Do you think regular people should be allowed access to machine guns, rocket launchers, mounted cannons..?
