How does a fully automatic assault rifle work?

March 17th, 2011 by eranio

I know when you cock a handgun it pulls the hammer back and when u press the trigger it releases the hammer that strikes the back of the bullet which ignites the gun powder. But how does a pistol get cocked by istself if you don’t cock the slide. And also same thing with an automatic assault rifle. How does it shoot continueasley?

How can I fix my Airsoft Sniper Rifle?

October 20th, 2010 by eranio

When I attempt to cock it, the bolt slides back but doesn’t make the normal clicking sound. It wont go all the way back, and therefore I cannot load bbs or cock the spring to fire them. It is a vsr-10 tm clone, by agm. What is going on?

Is it military procedure to 'chamber a round'?

March 19th, 2010 by eranio

For those who don’t know here is an explanation

If you have an assault rifle, attach a 30 round magazine, ‘cock’ the weapon, replace the magazine with a new 30 round magazine, and you then have an assault rifle with 31 rounds (30 round mag with 1 round ‘chambered’)

Now this is common in video games – but i heard the US Military use that with their sidearms – Is that true or just video-game hype?

If I am a lefty, is buying a right-handed airsoft sniper rifle worth it?

February 7th, 2010 by eranio

I’m left-handed, and I would like to start sniping in airsoft. Unfortunately there are no left-handed bolt-action airsoft sniper rifles. I was wondering (preferably from another lefty) if buying a right-handed regular bolt-action rifle would be worth the trouble of reaching over to cock the gun.
I do plan on getting a bi-pod to make the cocking easier.
