Taking into account our available modern technology, i.e. availability of weapons that can wipe out whole countries, speed of deployability. Once the president has begun his 30 military control for policing action and started a war-like conflict, congress can’t very well have us pull out in the middle of the conflict, can they?

The president can deploy troops and authorize military strikes without approval of congress, can the president use nuclear weapons in this way as well?
If the USA was *believed* to be under nuclear attack (ICBMs inbound), does the POTUS have full authority to launch a nuclear retaliation?

What if we are already at war and our military decides the use of nuclear weapons is needed? Does the military need an approval from Congress in which weaponry is used?
Can the President override Congress on military issues?

when it is the gun owners that are protecting our rights from the government. Without the guns, we would have no rights.
The military is the government and business thugs, or strong arms. Congress never declared war.
Oh I’m sorry girls, I thought the constitution had some meaning. It was not designed to protect us from other countries, but from our government! Grow up!
Some ding bats think that todays military is the same as WWII’s. That was our last declared war!

Do Americans really believe their brother and neighbors in the military would turn on them?
And what would be the point to becoming a fascism? The government wouldn’t want that any more than the citizens. So why do people constantly refer to that ridiculous reason to have guns?
Ps, if or some bizarre reason the military did attack the general populace, a bunch of obese people with hand guns will not stop them.
If there are people in the US crazy enough to believe this, should they still be allowed to own a gun? Even when they talk about shooting up congress?

For example, if we cut the F22 Raptor, we will save billions, but lose thousands of jobs involved in manufacturing the plane. Will congress allow jobs to be lost in their districts/states in order to save taxpayer money and cut un-needed programs?

Basically Congress wants to spend millions of possibly even billions on dollars on new guns even though our own military is saying thats a crap idea since our guns are just fine right now and the new stuff arent that great either.
