I’m sure many people have been touchin on this subject as of late and recent times. But I still want to bring it up. I am against such law, I am from Texas of course, and I’ve always been able to go anywhere with my rifle for one, and my dad with his pistol and just shoot for fun. With a proper permit, we can carry a concealed handgun. I believe banning will not solve any issues, it will bing another civil war, and slowly Obama will pick our country apart by tearing out every ammendment that we have ever loved and cared about that has kept this country in tact since 1776. There is horrible crime don’t you doubt. But someone is going to get a hold of a weapon, or someone is going to murder in a different way…either way it’s not going to be any better if not worst. I am in the military as well, so I was always taught to "love" my weapon and never leave it, I sure as hell am not going to have someone pry it from my hands when I am home in Texas. How do you protect your family when ya really need too? Crap happens…and you can no longer protect your family…opinions anyone?

I am military trained but I am only trained in rifle use. So my expertise is limited.
I will be taking a home defense coarse
personal armed defense coarse before the purchase.
for those anti constitution folks please spare me the " you’ll shoot your family " crap .

So I’ve heard all of this crap about how people aren’t "true Americans" because they support gun control (reminds me of McCain/Palin’s "Real America" campaign). What are your thoughts about this?
My view: I’ve always been fine with gun control because I have no use for a weapon. The only use for firearms are (unfortunately) the military and for sport. Other than that, no use whatsoever. Personal protection? Restrict who can buy guns and do extensive background checks on the ones that do. Keep tabs on them for all I care. I just think it’s ridiculous; an error in the Constitution due to a couple comma’s. We don’t have a militia any more so no need for guns – end of story.
Just want your thoughts and opinions (however biased they may be, just support them). Oh, and don’t use the whole "you can shoot an armed burglar and save your family" excuse because I’ve heard an equal amount of stories where family members end up dead because of weapons in the house/accidents.

It’s been going on for about 5 years now. I’m not even a gun enthusiest. Why does this seemingly random thought happen so often to me? It’s like a subconcious ritual every time I take a crap.

During a tour in 2003, right after first invasion, our unit found plenty of empty warheads for saran gas, mustard gas, and other plenty chemical and bio agents. There were warehouse’s full of the stuff, but I get so sick of hearing there were no WMDs. Well yes, there were no nukes, but plenty of weapons that violated geneva law, nato treaties, and sanctions by the united nations. How come we never hear about this crap in the media? Most people had no clue what we found over there.
btw… most of the agents were stolen by the time we reached those sights, but our chem detectors blew up cuz the areas were saturated with residual contamination…

My younger brother is 16 and has always been fascinated with everything military. especially planes. he watches the military channel all the time, and makes ghille suits in our backyard, and likes to learn about guns and crap like that. he’s a really brave, tough kid who can endure almost anything. i’m afraid he might join after he graduates high school. i have asked him but he just shrugs. and my dad and mom won’t talk to him about it. how can i tell if he’s really interested? it upsets me.

Basically Congress wants to spend millions of possibly even billions on dollars on new guns even though our own military is saying thats a crap idea since our guns are just fine right now and the new stuff arent that great either.
