Military, did you know?

September 6th, 2010 by eranio

There has been a monthly average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theatre of operations during the last 22 months, and a total of 2,867 deaths. That gives the firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.
The firearm death rate in Washington DC is 80.6 per100,000 persons for the same period.
That means that you are about 25% more likely to be shot and killed in the U.S. capital than you are in Iraq.
Conclusion: The U.S. should pull out of Washington.
Luckythirteen, As a military family we thought is was pretty funny. As a legal citizen of the U.S., I think it is tragic that we send our best to fight for democracy while our national guard, border guard, police should be allowed to uphold the constitution and law in our own country.

How will it all end in Iraq?…With the death of bin Laden, a basic security in place of police and military?

July 28th, 2010 by eranio

These figures and deaths are continuing. What would satisfy victory in Iraq?

BAGHDAD, Iraq – A stunning new death count emerged Thursday, as Iraq’s health minister estimated 150,000 civilians have been killed in the war — about three times previously accepted estimates.

Moderate Sunni Muslims, meanwhile, threatened to walk away from politics and pick up guns, while the Shiite-dominated government renewed pressure on the United States to unleash the Iraqi army and claimed it could crush violence in six months.

After Democrats swept to majorities in both houses of the U.S. Congress and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld resigned, Iraqis appeared unsettled and seemed to sense the potential for an even bloodier conflict because future American policy is uncertain. As a result, positions hardened on both sides of the country’s deepening sectarian divide.

How is it going to end?

How would victory in Iraq be determined?

The signing of a piece of paper, by whom!

Gun Violence: Military VS Civilian?

March 18th, 2010 by eranio

I have a question. Has anybody ever heard of a school shooting on a military base? Has anybody ever heard of a domestic disturbance involving a shooting on a military base? I have not, Does no one find this odd that the military who are trained to and use firearms a lot don’t allow them in their houses? And there are few IF ANY shootings on these bases. Yet in public schools, homes, and life we can find countless reports of gun incidents and deaths. So how is it that the pro gun, Republican, military have banned guns outside of war have no incidents and civilians who are declaring it is their right to own firearms in their homes have escalated gun violence? Even now nursing homes are being targeted. And a child was killed at a gun show.

Do you think that firearms should be outlawed in the U.S.?

February 27th, 2010 by eranio

Yes, an amendment needs to added to the Constitution prohibiting firearms. Law enforcment and Military should should be the only authorized groups authorized firearms. The 2nd Amendment is outdated and doesn’t take 21st century America into consideration. There are thousands of accidental shootings and deaths resulting from firearms in the home and hunting accidents. People say that if firearms were banned, only criminals would have them. How often does a law abiding citizen take down a criminal due to having a firearm in the house? Extremely rare situations which does not justify the need to maintain a firearm. I am sure you can find another hobby besides shooting innocent animals. There are absolutely no positives to keeping a firearm in the home. Which is more important, your firearm or the possibility of losing your kid due to an accident?

If I owned a company that built military weapons?

February 3rd, 2010 by eranio

would it be in my best interests to have a war continue itself & if so… How?
Neva – the point is, someone is capitalizing from the destruction of homelands & the deaths of humans, in no way do I condone the actions but the fact is… ‘war is good for business’ so to speak & an awareness of this does not go astray.
All Black- now ain’t that the truth.
