Why shouldn’t the most advanced military state on Earth establish it’s dominance in space by placing into orbit military weapon system satellites like the "Rods of God" satellite proposed in 2007 so we can strike and destroy enemies anywhere in the world, at any time we so choose? Don’t we deserve to exercise our ability to destroy our enemies with a mere flick of our hand? Shouldn’t we destroy the technological capabilities of all enemy states so they can never rise up against the established order?

This bill has been floating around now for a couple weeks and I saw another story today on it and how its making an appearance on the hill. HR45 would make the "assault" rifle ban in 94 by Clinton look like a walk in the park. Assault rifles would not be banned for several years like before, they would be banned permanently. You would have to have an FFL in order to legally own a firearm in HR45. How would the government go about confiscating legal firearms from tax paying, ex military, clean record Americans? Liberals may ask, why do you need an assault rifle, why do you need guns, its not a matter of need or want, but of the God given right provided to all US citizens by the constitution. If two men can get married, or a woman can have an abortion, why cant I protect my family from a possible threat? Why does this administration want to take away the right to defend ourselves? Obama has already said that he will not weaponize space, he will cut our nuclear arsenal, and now he wants to take away our guns….somethings fishy here.

a) Private ownership of firearms
b) Talk radio
c) Boy Scouts from military bases
d) All mention of God in the public square
Liberals or Conservatives?
And why do they constantly want to take away our rights and freedoms?

The unconstitutional gun control law I do not agree with is the Firearm Owner’s Protection Act of 1986 aka "Restricting machine gun ownership for law abiding citizens law". I believe that this gun control law can be defeated through our court system. I am surprised to know that the NRA has not done anything to overturn it. I am surprised to know that it was a private citizen from the Cato Institute, Mr. Levy, who stood up in court and defeated the unreasonable gun control laws of Washington D.C.
I have told God that if I become rich within my lifetime, I will fight this unconstitutional law in court, hire the best of the best attorneys, and overturn it by legal means. Criminals do not obey the law and they own machine guns, this law makes it very hard and extremely expensive for good law abiding citizens to own a fully automatic firearm. I want every citizen to be able to fully exercise his rights and to have the choice to own the same firearms that our military has. If God blesses me with more wealth and I take this to court? Who do you think will win?

It’d have to be Trinidad. The cops were nowhere to be found, the streets were full of crazy drivers, kidnappings were through the roof, the cops and military would stand together on the street with assault rifles, bodyguards for government ministers would go to malls armed with assault rifles and the place was DIRTY. I got the feeling it was an exciting place…just that you probably didn’t want to be around when the fireworks started.
I thanked god when my plane left that country.

Don’t the soldiers of our Christian country have the right to keep God’s word by their side in their fight against Muslim extremists?

About the rifle scopes used in military warfare that were inscribed with quotes from the Bible?
What it is insinuating is that God is killing all the good and bad and innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan

If God was to make every single gun in the world disappear, whether it was owned by the military, government, police, civilians, or criminals. Would we finally achieve world peace?
Note: Politicians like Obama who believe in flower power are telling us that by disarming America and the rest of the world, we will achieve world peace.

Isn’t Harvard a private institution? I thought private property was God for the conservatards, just after guns. So why doesn’t Harvard, as a private instituition, have the right to tell military recruiters to go elsewhere?
Mark S: I didn’t say anything about cons being stupid. *You* brought that up. I wonder why?
Thanks to all who clarified the real story. But my point is this: What if she did? I’m sure the conservatards would canonize someone who didn’t allow any other government agency on their premises. Why is the military exempt from this super libertarian, "Me and My Shotgun Against the World" ideology?

Thank God for gun control still providing unarmed targets for the slaughter. This latest mall shooting is proof control fails all people. 50 years ago this would not have been so bad. Most adults would have been armed and able to stop any such event from becoming a mass murder. Proof is in the pudding. Guns don’t kill people, People kill people. If guns were fully legal this would have ended within 2-5 shots at which time only the shooter would have been dead not the 8 plus the shooter that had to die due to a lack of social responsibility to own a firearm and know how to use it. All of our founding fathers were in full support of all people owning and knowing how to use military firearms to protect themselves at all times. Protecting the people is not a job of the police or the government, it is the duty of the people. As the 911 calls prove there was tons of time expire before security or the police responded. Thank you Clinton, Bush and the Patriot Act for failing us all.

I am also looking for the requirements into getting a gun. (Specifically Tennessee). I am ex-military with no felonys and want a personal firearm. I am looking at a S & W .40 M & P or a Glock .40 FF. Also what are the circumstances if someone else buys you one. And how would I go about getting a carry permit and concealed carry permit? Thanks and Merry Christmas. God Bless.

A hunting rifle mounted with a scope is fully as powerful as a sniper rifle, fully as accurate, and with off the shelf ammo just a capable of penetrating body armor at long range. What then is the difference between a hunting rifle and a sniper rifle? To me, they are one and the same.
Of course, we all know that a hunting rifle with a max effective range of 500 yards is far less more dangerous than an "oh my god, it has a bayonet assault rifle" with a max effective range of 200 yards.

Not the one in Full Metal Jacket. The full version that I will add in just a second.
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will…
My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit…
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will…
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We
are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is America’s and there is no enemy, but peace!
It has roots outside of the movie, moron. I just dont know where.

I want to be Infantry in the Army and my Reason is because, I want to serve my country, do something amazing, give back to God, and for adventure. Other reasons are because I like the military, firearms, and I’ve always said, I can do something or sit back and watch on CNN-forgot where I heard that.
