Should I get the Mauser SR PRO airsoft sniper rifle or the UTG M324 airsoft sniper rifle?

November 23rd, 2010 by eranio

Me and my friends are into airsoft and everybody is getting really good guns, like full metal guns and custom upgraded echo 1′s. I need the best bolt action rifle with dead accuracy and alot of power for under 200 dollars.

Will someone tell me where I'm mistaken?

November 22nd, 2010 by eranio

Group A: People who go to licensed dealers and gun show and purchase their firearms where they are registered with the federal authorities. They obtain permits to carry concealed firearms after hours of safety training and hundreds of rounds of practice fire and after intense scrutiny into their criminal record. They spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars on high end firearms and ammunition that is held to the highest level of quality and safety control. They spend hundreds of hours and countless rounds of ammunition a year at the range. Some are former law enforcement and military personnel. They are some of the safest firearms operators on the planet. They purchase their weapons for hunting, sport, to exercise their God given right, and to assure the safety and well being of themselves, their loved ones, and their property. What they DO NOT do is perform drive-bys, knock off Seven-Elevens, mug people, and commit murder. For that matter they don’t commit hardly any type of crime because they have to maintain their permits to CCW.

Group B: People who commit murder, perform drive-bys, knock off Seven-Elevens, mug people, and generally have little to no regard for the law. What they DO NOT do is purchase their guns from licensed vendors or register them with law enforcement. They do not purchase high end equipment and ammunition from reputable dealers. They do not obtain legal permits to carry concealed weapons. They do not go through training in weapons use and safety. They do not go through any kind of screening process to weed out criminals (because that’s what they are). They purchase their fireams for any one of the aforementioned reasons

You still with me?

Now, using gun grabber logic, you can stop and prevent Group B from committing all the terrible things they do by taking guns away from Group A.

If you disagree, then please enlighten me.
Mountain Man,

To acquiring a CCW in Ohio requires an intense background check and a 17 hour training class that covers safe operation, accuracy practice, and the mental preparation to use a firearm in self defense. By the end of the course each participant will fire approximately 200 rounds of ammunition at the range. Please don’t tell me I’m wrong when I clearly have more knowledge on the subject than you.

Eddieroachr

I think you would agree that a straw buy would fall under the canopy of "illegally purchased". Law abiding citizens tend to do just that; abide by the law.
Mountain Man,

Aside from the fact that I think you have a myriad of your own issues, I disagree with the idea that you can affect a group of UNLAWFUL people by making new LAWS. The only people that will be affected by NEW gun legislation are people that obey CURRENT gun legislation (i.e. Group A and not Group B).

Your stance on the 2nd Amendment?

November 17th, 2010 by eranio

So I’ve heard all of this crap about how people aren’t "true Americans" because they support gun control (reminds me of McCain/Palin’s "Real America" campaign). What are your thoughts about this?

My view: I’ve always been fine with gun control because I have no use for a weapon. The only use for firearms are (unfortunately) the military and for sport. Other than that, no use whatsoever. Personal protection? Restrict who can buy guns and do extensive background checks on the ones that do. Keep tabs on them for all I care. I just think it’s ridiculous; an error in the Constitution due to a couple comma’s. We don’t have a militia any more so no need for guns – end of story.

Just want your thoughts and opinions (however biased they may be, just support them). Oh, and don’t use the whole "you can shoot an armed burglar and save your family" excuse because I’ve heard an equal amount of stories where family members end up dead because of weapons in the house/accidents.

Why does everybody say everything about Europe is bad?

November 15th, 2010 by eranio

Sure they have their faults. But let’s take Switzerland. Their country has the lowest crime rate in the world. You know why?

They are required in their country to do military service for a number of years. After that, they are REQUIRED to take their guns home. Fully automatic assault rifles. And they keep training with them. Funny how they aren’t killed off by guns in record numbers. But here in the US where there is tough gun control, there is a major problem with gun deaths.

Maybe if we are getting so "European" over here, we should adopt some of Switzerland’s gun laws too.

Just a thought.
I never said Switzerland was the US. You missed the entire point of the question.

So it will remain a crime to smoke weed in California, yet owning an assault rifle will be totally legal?

November 5th, 2010 by eranio

Is it any wonder the world regards the USA as a nation of morons?
hynose lancome; I do not live in the USA, and would not so so even if houses were being given away free
mikegolf; AK’s are still legal in Cali. Please give me one single good reason why on earth anyone would need an AK assault rifle.
landlord. I see….so the number of people killed or injured by guns in the USA each year is around 80,000. The number of people killed by dope is….zero. Isn’t it the consitutional right of stoners to be protected from gun loving lunatics?

Need help trying to find out about a rifle?

October 28th, 2010 by eranio

My boyfriend obtained a gun while in Afganistan. We do not know what kind of gun it is and would like to find out. please bear with me I know nothing about guns. He did say it was a flintlock rifle. It has tons of mother of pearl all over it. It has a Lion imprinted above the trigger. Apparently the military said the did not know where exactly it came from but that the russians may have built it for the afgans. this of course makes the rifle old. I do have lots of pictures of the gun. If you know or know of any way to figure out exactly what this gun is or you would like to see it I can email you the pics. I would love any help I could get on this matter. Thanks in advance.

why don't they use guns in Transformers Animated?

October 23rd, 2010 by eranio

the new American trash series, the Transformers have sissy girl legs and no guns! WHY?! I can’t figure it out, why wouldn’t 2 factions of military robots not have guns?!

why do American cartoons have to be made for puss ies? no guns, no death, no mild profanity, no intense action.

this is why the Japanese own animation they got everything there.

Actually, don't you think airsoft is a GOOD influence? I teach elementary school, and kids are into guns now?

October 23rd, 2010 by eranio

I think they will buy guns when they grow up. Ten year old kids now can tell you all the different types of military rifles and pistols. Guns are very popular now. I would love if guns got so popular that you could get a concealed weapon permit in Los Angeles.

If I just mention hunting or guns in passing, (For example, one of our stories is called "Lil Arliss and the Bear") all the boys in the room suddenly have an ad hoc discussion about guns. Which I have to STOP or get in trouble with the principal/parents. And these are latino boys from economically depressed families. I get the Latino students because I can speak Spanish, and I get the English Language Learner Cluster. They cannot afford the best video games or toys. My room partner next door who (who HATES guns) has the gifted cluster, was complaining that all the video games make guns very glamourous to young boys. Apparently the children in the gifted cluster have every video game known to man.

Which jobs in the Marine Corps receive weapons training besides Infantry?

October 22nd, 2010 by eranio

I’m enlisting soon and looking at my job options. I’m joining the reserves, and my recruiter told me there were no infantry slots available until 2012. I wanted infantry, but I’m fine choosing something else. I know every Marine is a rifleman, and everyone goes through MCT, but I want a job that receives weapons training at their MOS school and is around guns for the most part. Military Police, for example, but my recruiter also told me the MP field is starting to be replaced by civilians. Please help. Thank you!

Anybody familiar with a Steyr 8×56?

October 19th, 2010 by eranio

I saw a Steyr 8×56 at a pawn shop for a little over 0 today. I have a 8MM Mauser, and I know the cartridges are different (8×57 vs 8×56), but I was wondering is these rifles are any good. I am beginning to collect old military rifles, and I was wondering if it would be a worthwhile addition.
Also, I’ve seen the guns on a few websites, but the ammo seems to be really scarce. And, a website I saw said that the gun requires a clip to load, and it was not included. Anybody know where I can get a clip?

how accurate are sniper rifles?

October 11th, 2010 by eranio

if you are far enough, will gravity pull the bullet down so ur actually shooting below your intended target? does the bullet have a delay time? like if ur target is moving at a fast speed and you shoot right when hes in ur crosshairs…will it still miss because it cant travel to its destination fast enough? if it is windy will that affect the bullets trajectory? And besides…isnt the scope like an inch or two higher than the barrel? if you aim at a bullseye with the crosshairs wont you just shoot an inch or two below it? sorry i dont know much about guns i was just curious

There are some places only the governent and the bad guy has guns, so what is the good guy to do if attacked?

October 10th, 2010 by eranio

Like a state fairground for example. I know in my homestate only the police and military are allowed firearms even if you have a permit to carry and went through all the training. I ask those tree hugging gun control people, what is the average joe who is with his family suppose to do if he encounters an attacker or gunman? Is he suppose to fight back with a telephone and what is he suppose to do in time in takes the cops to get there while his family is being shot up? How will governmen repay him for his dead wife? give him taxpayer money? Perhaps the better solution is allow the average citizen to protect themselves wherever it may be, afterall, the criminal doesn’t care about the location.
how will the government having a gun do any good. why won’t the goverment’s gun make the situation any worse?? What is the difference? There are plenty of private citizen who have more training and know more about guns than the police. Take that Vimesfan

ft. hood shooting, florida shooting, shouldn't we ban all guns?

October 9th, 2010 by eranio

this is ridiculous, shouldn’t we ban all guns except for military and police already, it’s long overdo. The constitution may give the right to bear arms, but isn’t that outdated???

Should Mexico tell the US to change the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution?

October 9th, 2010 by eranio

Felipe de Jesús Calderón Hinojosa: The president of Mexico has called for tighter enforcement of US gun laws to the outright ban of sale of guns in the US as it is creating a crime problem in Mexico.
He is also saying the US is not doing enough to control drugs in the US.
Shipments on any goods leaving Mexico are subject to search by US Customs but anything going into Mexico he now says the US needs to inspect. As it is a US problem of and for the crime in Mexico in allowing guns to be exported and drugs to be sold here.
The weapons that have been siezed by the police or military in Mexico, serial # or mfg. will not be released to the US to trace.
Yet the call is to ban sale in the US of any and all types of military or legal firearms that might end up being transported to Mexico.

Why USA needs a military if almost every American owns a gun?!?

October 7th, 2010 by eranio

many Americans own many guns, i hear America has more guns than people. who dare to invade the USA?!? USA should throw away the military what do you think?!? p.s. not me asking
No Pat, you are wrong. USA is the last country anyone would want to invade, along with China. UK would be pretty easy to invade as the peoples there are weak.
