What do i need to do to prepare for Rangers training?

November 23rd, 2010 by eranio

I am a 14 year old guy, and i have my heart set on being a Ranger one day. Im pretty sure im going to go into the military straight out of high school. I have a large amount of firearms training, but i just want to know what do i need to do to physically and mentally prepare me for the training? For example, how many push ups would i need to do without a break? how long would i have to run without a break? any info is helpful. thanks

Are there any long-range sniper rifles that are around $1000 to $2000?

March 10th, 2010 by eranio

I’ve been looking for a long range sniper rifle, and I’ve had my heart set on the Chey-Tac Intervention M200. Much to my disappointment, it was the same price of a used car (around ,000 USD). A Barrett M82/M107 was at least K cheaper than that?

Anyway, I’ve been looking around for a long-range sniper (or similar-looking) rifle that may be chambered for any round, but has a similar appearance and/or barrel length to the CheyTac Intervention or a Barrett. I was thinking about bolt actions, since semi-autos jammed more often, but I don’t know.

Thanks for answering!
BTW, I live in California, and I’m pretty familiarized with their rather annoying laws.

Where does the military creed “This is my rifle” come from?

February 8th, 2010 by eranio

Not the one in Full Metal Jacket. The full version that I will add in just a second.
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will…

My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit…

My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will…
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We
are the saviors of my life.

So be it, until victory is America’s and there is no enemy, but peace!
It has roots outside of the movie, moron. I just dont know where.
