About the rifle scopes used in military warfare that were inscribed with quotes from the Bible?
What it is insinuating is that God is killing all the good and bad and innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan

We keep spending more on high tech weapons when it is clear that in guerrilla warfare, the only type of war any country would wage against the U.S,. demands boots on the ground. The most effective weapons of the Iraq and Iran wars are rifles, rocket propelled grenades, and IEDs not submarines, tactical fighter aircraft, aircraft carriers, and predator drones.
I fear that the military and our wars are just being used as a conduit to funnel government money to the richest people in the world while attempting to minimize the amount given to real American Heroes.
Still, every time I go through the check out stands at PX the headlines on the Army, Navy times are always that more sailors and soldiers are getting the axe.

I’m going to list reasons:
1. Our defense program has numerous weapons that look like perpetual money trees for the military industry. How long has the F-22, F-35, XM-8 gun and other weapons been in development? How does it take 10-20 years to get one weapon out? Microsoft can make a new Xbox system with less flaws than your typical military weapon in a couple years. This just tells me these weapons are pork. Ever notice the real weapon systems are never announced and just come out like a surprise?
2. Iraq has just torn apart our equipment and morally exhausted the soldiers. Even the most patriotic are starting to wonder what the point of being there is.
3. Most decent people wouldn’t serve in the military because most of their fellow recruits are the bottom of the barrel of society. Moreover, people won’t even join anymore because they don’t want to die or lose their limbs in Iraq.
4. All the weapons cost a gazillion dollars to fix, which is insanely impractical.

I’ll go first:
1)Put major restrictions on people on Wall Street using public funds
2)Ramp up deportations of illegal immigrants. I’d demand that "sanctuary cities" comply. If they didn’t I’d bring in the military.
3)Get out of Iraq the day I was elected
4)Put major tariffs on China until they stop fixing their currency.
5)Get rid of the federally mandatory criminal background check for licensed gun dealers. Get rid of the heavy regulation of fully automatic rifles.
What do you think? I am interested in seeing other’s responses

A Marine Corps reservist was sentenced to six months in military jail after pleading guilty to negligent homicide for the shooting death of a comrade in their Iraq barracks.
Lance Cpl. Michael C. Fulcher, 21, was sentenced Tuesday at a Camp Lejeune court-martial, at which he also pleaded guilty to negligent use of a firearm. He was not ordered to be discharged from the Marines.

"Conservatives run the best military". That’s funny! At least Barack Obama is fighting the war that’s worth fighting. And If Republicans run the best military, where is the Weapons of Mass Destruction, Where is Osama bin Laden, and why are we not in Iran or North Korea instead of Iraq?

There is a guy who tells me he was in Vietnam (air force) and that his whole platoon died on a mission to an airfield but he did not go on. So I tell him to look up a name at the Vietnam Memorial wall and he say’s he doesnt remember anyones name(30+ guys and not one name remembered) Plus the other day we were watching Military chanel and the 10 best assault rifles was on and they came to the AK-47, he asked me what gun that was(He had no clue) hello people the ak-47 was the weapon of our enemy in vietnam?!?! anyone else smell some bullshit going on or is it just me? Reason why im suspicios and a lil bit angry is I am a marine infantryman (Iraq twice) and i would never forget the gun of my enemy or not remember any of my fallen comrades ecspecialy a whole platoon! The U.S. government is here at hope, and while the military has had trouble winning in Vietnam and Iraq, do you really think they would have any trouble putting down the gun owners in the U.S.? It would be like cannons against pea shooters, as one person said.

When I was in Iraq, we had some Navy personel that had never fired a rifle in their life, and the Marines of other Navy people had to show them how to use them. I believe that all branches need to qualify all personel on the M-16A2 and the M-9. The Marines and Army are required to qualify on the basic infantry/ riflemen weapons, such as the M-16, SAW, M-60, M-203 grenade launcher, laws rocket (forgive me if they no longer use the LAWS rocket), claymore mine, and a few others I have forgotten about. The other branches should be required to qualify o the m-16 and M-9 and familiarized with the same weapons that the above mentioned are used by the Marines and Army on a regular basis. What do you think?

I’m putting together a flight video using a simulated AC-130 Spectre gunship. We will be attacking two simulated ground targets: A vehicle convoy using our Vulcan cannons and a weapons depot using the Howitzer in Iraq. I need a realistic callsign that would be used for an aircraft/mission like this, and realistic voice commands for clearance to engage the target, target in sight, weapons fired, and when the target is destroyed. Just a few examples of what these might sound like would be really great! I’m a real commercial pilot, but the radio jargon we use is nothing like military jargon. Would the commands come from a ground command station, or from the control center in the aircraft?

For some reason it seems perverse to use the words "Gay" and "Dishonorable Discharge" in the same sentence.
would it be dishonorable if you suddenly came out, like full out flamingly gay, while you were stationed in the middle of iraq? or would they say "Knock it off and pick up your gun" and you’d still be stuck out there in the sandbox? what happens to people who decide to "out" themselves in the military?

Ok for a few years now there has been a shortage of ammo and some types of firearms. Many claimed it was the American gun owners fault.
Well here are some links to help you answer this question of mine; Was this shortage of firearms and ammo caused just from a buying frenzy of the American public?
Maybe one reason?
http://www.theshootist.net/2009/03/dod-ends-sale-of-expended-military.html
Also the USA is handing out guns and ammo in Iraq;
http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/Iraqs-Military-Requesting-139B-in-Weapons-Vehicles-and-Equipment-04816/#more-4816
Look at all these guns that vanished in Iraq;
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5hlyq1-3kp2i5jwd0zh0KrO1L7xJQ
And what do we have here?
Pentagon Plans to Sell 135,579 Guns, 169 Million Rounds of Ammo to Iraq

US Police Run Short of Ammo as American Wars Consume Billions of Bullets
Washington Post

Oh I found tons more. But I hope that’s enough to answer my question.

Army Reservist Killed By Police After Standoff.
Leonardtown, MD A man who authorities believe was an Army Reservist just called up to serve in Iraq has been fatally shot by police in a standoff that began on Christmas.
St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron says 28-year-old James Emerick Dean, in the military, was shot by a sheriff’s deputy Tuesday afternoon. The sheriff says Dean had pointed a gun at a tactical team that was about to use gas to try to force him out of his father’s house. The military man did not want to go back to Iraq. He served in Iraq in the year 2005.
The family told authorities that Dean was despondent about recent orders for him to go to Iraq. Dean had returned in 2005 from a year and a half long tour in Afghanistan.

A friend likes to shoot firearms however he has post traumatic stress disorder from Iraq and cannot tolerate the ‘bang’. Where can he find earplugs that will tune out loud bangs completely–military ones are ineffective. Is there something better out there and where can I find it?

I know that while you can get away with a lot in the US in the weapons department, plenty of decidedly military weapons, like certain assault rifles, etc. are illegal for private individuals.
I’m assuming that in order to perform a military role, PMCs need comperable firepower. Are they able to get special permits to own these kinds of weapons? Or do they just stick to the legal ones?
Or, since they’re being used in Iraq, not the US, is the whole thing moot?

For example: I see pictures of soldiers with m14s in the US military in Iraq/Afghanistan. My main point is; how are they qualified to use and obtain those weapons instead of the standard issue m16/m4

Many Americans feel that it is their birth right to carry arms. Many other countries feel that it is too dangerous to give any crackpot the opportunity to shoot around their country side. Here is my suggestion: Change the law to make sure that guns in the US are not longer allowed! All Americans who feel so strongley that they have the right to carry weapons should join the Armee and help the poor guy’s in Iraq and Afganistan.
This would help the US at home and abroad. Less killing in America, and unlimited potential for all the gunslingers.
