why is color blindness not a disability if the gov. wont allow you to do the work that you love?

March 28th, 2011 by eranio

Im a automotive electricion and mechanic and recently discovered that the us military will only take me as a rifle man because im red green color blind. also i found out that as soon as 2nd grade that it was in my record that i should b discouraged from perusing a large list of jobs because of it. So if nobody will take a color blind person why is that not a disability.

I really want to know what you guys think of this situation, can it be done?

February 23rd, 2011 by eranio

I work as a gunsmith, and the commute to work is down right awful. The job isn’t paying me too well to commute, so i was wondering what else kind of jobs i can get into if i got gunsmith experience? Will i be able to work for an armory in the military even though i’m not in a branch of any kind? Can i work on firearms from law enforcement, even though i’m not an officer? What kind of jobs can i get into? gunsmith skills also require having knowledge on working with machines such as mills and lathes.

Best Military Position?

February 20th, 2011 by eranio

I am wondering what would be a good position for me. I want to be a person who makes and plants explosives (C4, grenades, bombs, bazooka’s) I would also like to be a person who hacks into enemy computers and gets important information. I would also like to be a person who takes out enemys from a distance, sort of like snipers do but i do’t like sniper rifles (is there anything similiar to a sniper?) Please answer.
If all of these require seperate jobs, then i guess i want all of them.

Does the military have any jobs where I don't have to touch any weapons?

February 8th, 2011 by eranio

I had a question about substance abuse issues in the military.Do they offer programs like AA to stay clean.I also have major depression and wanted to know if there was any job where I would never handle a firearm,or explosive.I really would like a desk job filing claims instead.I have been hospitalized for major depression as well, but I do not want that to stop me from looking into that.Is there any jobs that don’t involve any weaponry?

How does the military change you mentally? Does it make you a better person?

January 23rd, 2011 by eranio

I mean some people say that the military will only turn you into a mental case and turn you into a weapon and a lot of people who get out are nut jobs.

I don’t say this by the way. Its completely disrespectful, Id like to hear your opinion on it though.

Can't decide on an MOS, between military police and cavalry scout?

January 14th, 2011 by eranio

I was thinking maye you would help me choose a job. I want a job with alot of excitement, shooting weapons, and field training. That is pretty much both of the jobs. I would like to be a police officer, but I hear police stations don’t like to hire former MPs because civilian and military law are completely different.

How do obsolete military bases and weapons programs help the US taxpayer?

January 13th, 2011 by eranio

Whenever someone proposes closing an obsolete military base or weapons program, conservatives says that it can’t be done because theses programs generate jobs locally. How do taxpayers who do not work near an obsolete base or weapons program benefit from these program they are paying for?

A few questions about military training?

December 21st, 2010 by eranio

I want to get military training, but I have a few questions.
1. Can you get certified training but not actually join the military?
2. How old do you have to be to receive certified training(not join the military)?
3. With this training, what kind of jobs can you get?
4. If you have this training, are you allowed to own any special weapons that would be illegal for the general public to own?

What do you think about females in the military?

November 26th, 2010 by eranio

I want to know what everyone even if you are not military thinks about it. Saving lives firing weapons the whole she-bang. what do you think about letting them into combat jobs like 11B or even special forces and rangers.
Didn’t mean for people to be offended or think i was against it. I am a PFC medic in the army i just was curious about what peoples views were.
jesus guys i know they are not allowed into positions like those i want to know what you think if they started allowing us into combat like that

What foreign military accepts foreign recruits?

November 16th, 2010 by eranio

Ok so here is the "skinny". I’m going to be 21 in a week and I have nothing to show for it. I live in a country (USA) that basically sh@ts on its own people and instead of moving aside they (her citizens) just open their mouths for Uncle Sam’s load. I was a straight A student my entire life but an illegal alien (Mexican) was given my scholarship over myself (born in USA). I can’t obtain steady, stable employment because of the economy here and I can’t join the american military because I’m ten pounds over weight. Ridiculous huh?? I bet if the Chinese Army were knocking at the backdoor they wouldn’t even bothering weighing my ass they’d just hand me a rifle. I’ve considered just moving to another state but I keep hearing the same story everywhere about jobs and opportunity (Their are none). I’d be in the same situation just in another state…My weight doesn’t exactly come off easy (6’3, 230lbs) and I don’t have time to waste and to be honest I don’t feel I should have to conform to such outrageous standards. The american military basically wants olympians. I was told by an online source that if I showed up at a South African Military Recruit Station I’d be: "In like Flynn." Does anyone know of any national military that takes foreign recruits? I know to some (brainwashed patriots) this may seem drastic but I’m sick of taking Uncle Sam’s load up the ass, I’m sick of the sh@t that goes on here and I’m fed up with the way people here just ignore it. Thanks for your input foreign friends…

How many of you fundies that think Islam is threatening to take over the West are enlisting in the military?

October 1st, 2010 by eranio

I mean you’d probably do more good in Afghanistan than on Y!A. I’m just saying.

BTW, as an OIF Veteran, I can tell you there’s nothing better than actually saying you did *something* to help, even if it was just manning a .50 Caliber machine gun on the roof of a humvee in a zone rich with IEDs and garden-variety whack-jobs.

Contact your local recruiter!!!

Any advice for a 35 year old thinking of joining the military?

August 8th, 2010 by eranio

I have always contemplated joining, but I was always able to find good jobs…untill now! At 35,I feel this may be my last chance to go for it.I am divorced with two children I must help provide for. I have experience in mechanical work, plumbing, cooking, and business management.(no college). For what it is worth,I have been told many times that I am a natural leader. I am also experienced with firearms.(sport shooting,hunting,etc.). I would love to do anything involving aircraft, especially flying! …but I know that is probably a long shot.
I would like to know if there are specific branches that are more willing to work with people like me, and also if there are any perks for age and/or civillian experience…( rank/pay/bonus/etc…) I don’t have any physical problems other than wearing contacts. I am 5′ 9” 150 lbs and athletic by nature,so I dont’t forsee any problems being fit enough.
I only want answers from EXPERIENCED SERVICE PEOPLE please!! I am going through a really hard time, and this is a HUGE decision for me. I have not yet spoken to a recruiter. I guess I just would like some advice before I do….

Has the US Military considered selling AKM parts kits?

July 30th, 2010 by eranio

A lot of old ComBloc countries chop up AKM assault rifles and sell them to the United States civilian markets as parts kits to build legal rifles off of with American made receivers and some parts replaced. Just some background there.

My question is. Has the US Military considered doing this?
They are always uncovering a cache of small arms here and there. They capture them from insurgents and I am sure Saddam had some big stockpiles of AKMs.
Couldn’t they have all the recovered rifles send to a central facility, and get the receivers cut so they could be shipped here?
It could provide funding for the war, jobs for Iraqis and make those of us here at home very happy since parts kits have become so much more expensive/harder to find recently.

Has this been considered? What do you think of the idea?
