left handed person joining the military?

July 3rd, 2010 by eranio

Yeah i was thinking about joining the military for quite some time now and since i was a natural lefty how would i be taught to fire a rifle? right handed, or some other way, and is it possible to be issued a left handed rifle or do i have to buy my own or can it not be done altogether.

i find it impossible to aim down the sights with my right eye.

any help or info would be nice. .

If I am a lefty, is buying a right-handed airsoft sniper rifle worth it?

February 7th, 2010 by eranio

I’m left-handed, and I would like to start sniping in airsoft. Unfortunately there are no left-handed bolt-action airsoft sniper rifles. I was wondering (preferably from another lefty) if buying a right-handed regular bolt-action rifle would be worth the trouble of reaching over to cock the gun.
I do plan on getting a bi-pod to make the cocking easier.

When the military used bolt action rifles suppose a soldier was left-handed?

Were they still allowed to shoot lefty? I’m a lefty and no way could I shoot right-handed. You know that sniper (Barry Pepper) in Saving Private Ryan shot lefty. Did you know that?

Does the military issue left-handed weapons?

December 21st, 2009 by eranio

I have been googling this forever, but can’t find anything about it. If a southpaw joined the military, would he have to learn to shoot right-handed or does the military have left handed rifles? I only ask because the ejector port would shoot empties into a lefty’s face.
