Currently the United States spends over half a Trillion Dollars a year, more than the rest of the World combined, for military contracts with Defense Contractors like Lockheed-Martin, Northrop-Grumman, Raytheon, Boeing, General Dynamics, Blackwater, Halliburton, Dyn Corp. and others; for maintaining 737 Military bases in over 130 countries; for research and development of "Missile Defense," Space Based Weapons Systems and New Nuclear Weapons; and for the current Military Occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Im a student thinking about majoring in computer science, but id like to check out jobs with companies that research "stuff" with military application in mind. I know about lockheed martin and boeing (although im not looking for aerospace engineering.) Can anyone give me some ideas as to what companies develop military technology? ie communications, weapon systems, anything with electricity flowing through it.

For firearms, my guess is HK, because they seem to have a wider product range that proves popular with military customers (G36, 416, etc.)
I don’t know much about aerospace, I only know of Lockheed Martin, although they seem to be doing good.
Also, would private military contractors like Blackwater, or Xe as they now call themselves, be a good investment? How about DynCorp?

Can someone list some of the companies/industries that specialize in military weapons development. I’m in my college sophomore year; majoring in electrical engineering. I’m looking for internship opportunities within the next 2 years. Some of the companies that I have already looked into are Foster-Miller, Boeing, ATK, and Lockheed Martin. And if you have anymore info about a career path or weapons development please add that. thanks
