I am trying to collect all of the modern weapons that the Marines are using these days and I can’t find this rifle? New or Used I still want it without trying to fabricate one myself.

i doubt it because first of all i dont see the economy going anywhere in near future and the round is doing its job and doing it rather well so anyone see it being replaced and i know the Army and Marines are looking into new rifles now a days.

People who aren’t desperate and can do other things refuse to join the military because it’s organized like garbage, takes advantage of Guard/Reserve with multiple long-term deployments and stop-loss, and puts soldiers/airmen/sailors/marines in danger when it doesn’t have to.
So yeah, instead of fixing all that, let’s just lower the requirements so that those are even LESS qualified to lead men and hold weapons can drag it down some more.

ok im a senior in high school, im goin to college next year but after that i do wanna serve. initially, i was into aviation, then infantry, but as i think about it i really don’t know if i should because as much as i really want to learn how to use a rifle, learn survival techniques, work in a team and experience camaraderie, ever since i read up about Jimmy Massey and his story i’ve been doubting if i could actually take civilian lives without thinking twice about it. don’t get me wrong im all about fighting the enemy, but im guessing that in real war its not always black and white, you don’t always know who the enemy is or who the civilians are, so my question is what about medic? i wanna be in teh field, not doin paperwork on a base, but from what i’ve read about hospital corpsmen they aren’t allowed to shoot except in self-defense, and i would have no problem with killing terrorists. is it the same with army medics, would i not be shooting at people except in self-defense, when i know that the target is the enemy? not to mention i would like to be medic just for the sake of helping soldiers or marines. any other MOS’s come to mind which teach you how to use a firearm, and survival techniques, but have lower chances of killing civilians? would i be best off just sticking with coast guard?
oh and btw i mean no disprespect to people who are in combat MOS’s, im not suggesting it think any less of u because u may have killed civilians, i understand that its an unavoidable part of war, i just don’t know if i personally could take it.

Our nation is having financial difficulties and we need to eliminate all but the most essential programs.
The United States doesn’t need an army, navy, marines, coast guard, etc, etc. It’s just like the 2nd Amendment — these things were implemented by the Founding Fathers over 2 centuries ago! Back then a military and guns were needed, but today we have no need for either.
We don’t need a nasa either. We were already first to go to the moon. Lets let some other countries be the first at something, okay? There is no reason Americans should always be first.
Think of the money that could be saved — bring home every soldier worldwide! No more Bush wars, Afghanistan wars, etc. The money saved could be used to provide free health care and help us fight global warming.
President Obama is bringing the change that WE THE PEOPLE elected!

Do you think going to the military ( Marines) would be a good idea instead of college after high school? Marines are one of the best shooters in the world. So it makes sense right? Also, police departments love hiring ex combat men.

I have an extensive knowledge about military history, I like guns in general and shooting them, and I want to serve this country. I am not certain if I want to have RPGs fired at me for a living, but neither do most people.
I am interested in the Marines, but they are the first ones to be shipped off into combat and most of the people who have died in Iraq were Marines. I don’t want to die at a young age.

If you don’t know the number, it’s armory. I guess I would just be working with firearms. Which is a good thing for me cause I was thinking about going to college for gun smithing. But, I haven’t been able to be satisfied with the idea of -not- being in the military for some time. So, I’m basically just wondering if it’s something worth going into, what it’s like, you know… The basics, really. Feedback from former/current Marines would be nice! Thanks!

We have the most highly trained soldiers with the most high tech weapons. We could bring the Marines home and crush all these Latino and black and asian gangs. They have little pea-shooters compared to the guns our military has.

I’ve learned from multiple military sources that the M16 and M4 are the current infantry rifles issued to soldiers in the American Military. I assume this applies to both the Marines and Army. However, I’m curious as to why these two weapons are both circulated through the military, and in what quantity they’re present in, respectively. Of the two, which is more common for a soldier to be issued?

I love to travel (would not mind going anywhere in the world), I love guns (training would be great), I like to stay fit (even though I have not been doing that lately. And basically I would like to experience something new in life being 25 and not heading in any direction. Any advice? I was thinking perhaps Army or Marines, my career is Information Technology. And I am an adrenaline junkie if that means anything.

i saw a video of a marine on the news
he had an M249 with an ACOG 4x scope
my question is, how do you get optics in the marines/military?
do you have to qualify for the optic? or can you just take it from an armory(or wherever u get the optic from)
also leading to another question
when a soldier is deployed..how does he get optics for his rifle?(red dot, laser sights all that good stuff, etc)
can he just take it?
btw guys, i really mean he had an M249..not an M16, i made no mistake..he had an M249 SAW with an ACOG sight and a vertical grip

In the 1700s civilians and military personnel were pretty evenly matched (except cannons).
Today’s in-home firearms pale in comparison to the military’s arsenal.
Do people who state "revolution" think their weapons have ANY possible chance against that of the US military (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines)?

If America was successfully invaded by another country, like Canada, Mexico, the European Union, China, Russia, or even Britain (trying to colonize us again), or a coalition of any of these countries. If our American army, navy, air force, and marines were overwhelmed and our government was unable to guarantee the security of our homeland from the invaders…
In such a situation, I believe that the gun owners of America can save our country and our Constitution. There are an estimated 197 million firearms in the hands of our private citizens, and about 81 million gun owners in America (I hope I got my statistics right).
The biggest national armies have at most 4 or 5 million soldiers and 2 million more in reserve. If we were to face them in our own soil, our citizens would outnumber them 15 to 1. Even if our American military is overwhelmed, I believe that the invaders do not stand a chance. I believe that gun owners can save America from any invasion. And what is your position?

I am thinking of going into the marines and the best weapon I can handle would have to be a sniper rifle. Another gun I am familiar with would be the classic rifle and pistol such as a desert eagle. If you could can I have a Marine answer this?

Wouldn’t that be the ultimate psychological warfare to have the Marines charge into a terrorist camp with some badass swords and battle axes chopping everyone up in a full on Berserker rage? Nobody expects to be attacked with some sweet edged melee weapons in 2010! They are +20 Strength and +34 Dexterity by the way.

Alot of technology has been out to make soldiers job’s easier and safer. You see it alot on future weapons but also on other news channels. New shorter, lighter, deadlier rifles, new backpack plastic frames that way half the weight of our current ruck sack. And can carry 3 times as much. Tires for strykers that cannot be destroyed, ruined, etc. Jets that are completly invisible to our enemies latest techonlogy. Boots that make you feel like your walking, running on nothing. Yet stronger then our current combat boots. Bullet proof vest that weigh no where near the weight of our current vest. And also cover all the vitals from any type of enemy round. The current vest weighs 60 pounds WITHOUT the metal plates. Figure in the plates it weighs well over 100 pounds. And it just covers the chest. Your sides are comepletly open (your lungs, kidneys can easily be hit). Everything I have been mentioning has been tested, tested, and tested, for years now. We have some brilliant scientist and engineers and yet our military keep denying them. WHY? Yes I am in the army. The weight for an infantry soldier is out ragous. No wonder we end up with sever back problems. Imagine all the lives we could be saving if the DOD started buying all these new safer more lethal gear. Even the f-22 raptor is being phased out cause its "too expensive". It really seems like the military and politicans care more about saving money then saving lives. Am I right or wrong? Please someone explain to me why? My re-enlistment is coming up and I’m really serious about not re-enlisting becasue it just seems like the government really does not give a damn about us soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen anymore.

It has been my boyfriend’s dream to join the Navy or Marines since he was young. He migrated to the US in 2005 when he was 18 years old but just three months later got in trouble with the law. He got caught with 0 dollars in counterfeit money and was charged with 1 count possession of counterfeit money and 2 counts of possession with intent to pass or use 0 in counterfeit money. One charge of intent to pass or use was dropped but the other along with the possession charge wasn’t. In the end, he was given 3 years of probation, 50 hours of community service and asked to pay 0 fine.
When he got arrested, he was already scheduled to take the ASVAB for the Navy. He really did not know that the money was counterfeit, it was given to him by some friends who were also arrested with him but somehow got off and were never charged with anything. He was new to the country, barely spoke the language and didn’t even have the money to get a lawyer.
He was recently released from probation and has tried to speak with recruiters from the Army and Marines, he knows that it’s impossible to join the Navy with a felony but that the Army and Marines might be possible with waivers. However, he has been quite unlucky as no one seems to want to go through the trouble of helping him.
Recently, he found a Marine recruiter who was willing to help but he said my boyfriend first needed to get a waiver of the gun control act which prevents all felons from possessing firearms but he didn’t tell us how that can be done.
If anyone could help us by giving some tips on how to go through with this, it would be great.

I have a couple friends in school that have been taqlking about being in the "Junior Marines" and
"Junior Air Force Reserves". The junior marines are believable but the I have yet to find a "JAFR" website. My friend also says that he flies a F35 Joint Strike Fighter. They also say that they fire .50 cal sniper rifles and have made incredible shots from 2-3 miles away. One also says that for 2 weeks each summer he is the commander of the USS Ronald Reagan. The other syas hes been to Siberia and a whole lot of other Bullsh%t. Much of this is unbelievable but I would like to know from a professional in the military or that has extensive knowledge on this subject matter. Also, they say that they have been inside Area 51.
The question is, Are they telling the truth, part truth, or a complete lie?
I asked him a while ago if it was a jrotc program but he specifically said to look for a JAFR website.

I want to be involved and working around firearms, and a little info about me – just graduated high school, and I’m an introvert..but not anti social! I really do well when I work by myself, but if there’s team effort, I’ll step up too. I love shooting ever since I was a kid, and a month after graduating, I decided that I want to work in this area. I’ve thought about other jobs, like computers and technology, and the medical field, but many of my family members work with firearms or related fields, and I guess that I’m in a tradition, and I love it. Many of my uncles and cousins and even one aunt are either veterans or deployed. My aunt was in the Air Force, and 2 Marine uncles and 1 uncle was a soldier, and 4 cousins deployed, one Navy, rest are Marines. The rest of my family are either gunsmiths and ranch "peeps", because we have LOTS of chicken.
I guess I wanted to explain all of that because I have these two paths – the Military or Family business. I know that it’s my choice, and I’ve talked to my family about this, and they help me out as well. But my question is, Is there other areas where I can work with Firearms? I can only think of a few–
Military or the family business. Law Enforcement. Forest/Border worker.
Can anyone please point out other jobs? Thanks in advance
