How should i fix this?

March 11th, 2011 by eranio

this is only a ROUGH draft. i know it needs a lot of help. does anyone have any good ideas on how to help me?
What is a strength of America? Everyone has their options on what they think is a strength or a weakness. In my point of view the military is one of the biggest strengths America has.
The military has been around for a tremendously long time. Before 1972 conscription (also known as drafting) was used during war and during the peace. After 1972 the military is made up of volunteers willing to fight for there country. All these volunteers make the American military one of the largest militaries in the world.
First, the military has the best technology. This includes all the firearms, artillery, ammunition, armor, ground vehicles, aircraft, robots, and communications. All these technologies make it easier, and safer for the volunteers fighting in the war to come back home safely. Second, the training for a military the size we have is superior. The service members are physically, technically and psychologically trained. Depending on which branch of the military the service member may have to go on for more training. Third, after a member of the military retires from the military this person can now go the college for free, they also now have health benefits. Our military is one of the best taken care of on and off the military bass.
Serving in the military is no longer a drafting thing its pure voluntary. Many of families have lost loved ones, but its nothing to grief over. Its an honorary dead. Think of all the men and women risking their lives to keep America free and safe.

Which job in the military is for me?

December 3rd, 2010 by eranio

I want to join the military as a medic, or something related to being an EMT/Paramedic. I was looking at Army 68W, Navy Corpsman, Coast Guard AST, and Air Force Pararescue. I’ve also wanted to join the Marines for the longest time, even though I wanted a career as a paramedic. The Marines are just such an amazing group of men and women. But they don’t have any medics within their own branch. I would want to be in combat, with a rifle. Not in a hospital, or on a ship. Out of everything I listed, which job would suit me best, in your opinion? Thanks

THE US military' arsenal of weapons, aircraft, ships…..MEMORIAL DAY?

August 6th, 2010 by eranio

Is it me or is it just incredible the amount of technology the US has..

We have jets that can out fly anti aircraft missiles, we have aircraft carriers that are longer than the empire state building is tall and can carry out an entire assault by itself, we have missiles that can take off in the Arctic ocean from a submarine, and pinpoint a target thousands of miles away, we have artillery that can be fired from mile behind the front lines and accurately eliminate the enemy…..

And the best part is, we have men and women ready to fight until the death to help protect their country…..

I must say, aside from all the Liberals who would rather see our military disbanded and re-direct the money to the homeless in some foreign country that will most likely attack us, We live in a great country…

I am proud to be an American, Happy Memorial DAY all you vets out there and all those that have served, war or not…

YOU ARE A BRAVE! Have a Great day monday!
18,000 die annual of health care issues, gee and i though Mr Clinton made sure that when he sold those plots in Arlington to the Chinese he took care of that problem….no wait..maybe i should support the guy on the street corner begging drinking a 40 ounce not paying taxes on his earned income…I’ll just go back to my 60 hour a week job..thanks..

A question to people who have served in the Military for REAL?

July 22nd, 2010 by eranio

When people say men and women in the army, what exactly do women do in the army because I’ve never seen them with guns on the frontline?

Why argue over military VS police?

July 19th, 2010 by eranio

Folks, they’re on the same side. Why do people feel the need to argue over who is more important than the other? The fact is, neither one is more important than the other. Without the military, we’d be susceptible to terrorist attacks by other countries. The military is filled with men and women who act as our "force field" so to speak. Without them, we’d be at risk.

Without the police, we’d be killing each other. Remember, there is MUCH more crime that goes on INSIDE the country than there are other countries trying to attack us. Without the police, it would be every man for himself. How would you feel every night knowing that there are gang members living in your neighborhood? You’d have no sense of protection at all. Sure, a personal firearm can protect you, but not against the world.

The fact is, the military isn’t ranked above the police, and the police isn’t ranked above the military. They are both filled with individuals willing to risk their lives to keep US safe!!!
Can the military act as police? Yes. They have military police who have jurisdiction over military bases, but that’s it. They’d be damn capable of acting as police officers, however.

Can the police act as the military? They may not be trained in every aspect that the military is trained in, but they’d be damn capable of learning it. Police specialize in certain areas, and military specialize in certain areas. We need to keep them seperate, and respect both of them.

So why do so many people try to pit them against each other?
Michael, so you agree with taking the life of a man just because he’s armed with a gun? If there is a way around it, then I don’t see a reason to. That is why we have laws here in the U.S.

I am thinking of joining the military?

June 5th, 2010 by eranio

I have always wanted to serve my country and give back for everything my family (immigrants) has been blessed with. I have a deep respect for all the men and women serving our country and the sacrifices they have made. As for me, I graduated from college about 7 months ago, and have had difficulty finding a career. I’m a 23 year old Asian male with a degree in business. I don’t have much confidence or many friends, and have been recently feeling depressed. I feel stuck at home and would love to see the world. I feel the military can help change that. But i have a few doubts and am not sure if i am qualified:
1. Parents- They have always known my interest in the military, and have always been strongly against me joining
2. I am not very athletic. I am only 5 ft 8 and pretty skinny. I’m not sure if i am physically strong enough
3. Racism- I know racism is not as bad these days, but I am worried being a small Asian kid that I might get singled out?
4. I am bipolar/manic. I’m afraid the mental stuff might really get to me.
5. No felony convictions, but I am banned from purchasing firearms in California until I am 26 years old due to previous mental hospital visits.

But overall, it would be a great honor to serve my country.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Is it OK to write a letter to our Military men and women?

May 8th, 2010 by eranio

Dear Military members, You are doing a puke poor job of fighting for the United States. The war is based on lies and to tell you the truth you ( That is those who have died ) are dying for nothing. You military men and women can’t even beat a military who is about as powerful as the Flintstone era people. What a pitiful puke poor shame that is. ( Of course the reason you can’t win is because the war in Iraq is wrong ) The best thing you can do is get out of the military and go to college and get a real job. The job of running around with a gun and killing so many innocent people should have stopped back in Vietnam but here it is 2006 and you young people are once again acting like uneducated people. Shame on you young people for going into the military and fighting for all the lies President Bush has told. Shame on you all.

today i was driving down the freeway and saw a military vehicle w/ men on top and they had their BIG guns out?

February 9th, 2010 by eranio

it looked like the pics you see of the men and women patrolling the streets of iraq, on the big tank-type vehicles (but the kind w/ actual wheels, not those weird chain thingies) where they’re standing on top with their m-16′s or whatever big guns out and ready, just in case, only it was on a california freeway! we’re far from any base that i know of, they were headed north, and san diego is south of me. 29 palms and all that, im not sure what direction that is from me, but its a good 1.5 hrs away. so what im basically wondering is, i’ve seen military vehicles before, but never w/ the boys on top with their giant guns out in their hands! does anyone know what this was? i assume the guns werent loaded and it was some kind of training activity, but i grew up in a HEAVILY military populated area and have never seen this before, especially not on the freeway and not w/ the guns out!
lol i was NOT being paranoid, i could plainly see them, and im very used to seeing military vehicles on the road. like i said, i grew up in norfolk, va, look it up, world’s largest naval base, but anyway, i’ve seen a million convoys and military vehicles by themselves, and w/ the boys standing on top, but never holding guns. they weren’t small guns, they were BIG, so i didn’t imagine them. and im not being paranoid b/c i didn’t find this sight worrisome in the least, i just am curious to know if anyone w/ any military background whatsoever knows why they would have been there like that. like i said, i assume it was training, but what a long way from base they were!
it wasn’t a tank w/ a mounted gun, they were guns the boys were holding. and i highly doubt it was a movie shoot, although a good theory, because we were in rush hour on friday afternoon in heavy traffic on the 15 freeway. about 2 hours north of camp pendleton.
