A good picture book of weapons?

October 16th, 2010 by eranio

I’m looking for good books of weapons and military vehicles, sea and aircraft, missiles, etc. that are well illustrated, hopefully that are quite modern (in types of weapon, as well), mainly in terms of using good graphics.

Are the new MRAP(military vehicles) RPG proof?

October 7th, 2010 by eranio

know the current Warfare of the U.S. is different and difficult to combat when you compare it to the U.S. past wars. Heck The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan can not be considered real wars, cause we are fighting Guerilla’s instead of ordinary military armies with vehicles. Its usually considered Police Action instead of regular warfare. I am sure if you took history you would know what the term Police Action means. Yeah, the Taliban had tanks well until we attacked them and destroyed all their tanks in combat. Back to the point, i heard about the new MRAP vehicles but how about tanks which could also be bomb proof. I heard that they are bomb resistant I wonder if that also includes sucide car bombs to. They said it was resistant to IED’s but they never said anything about RPG, are they also RPG proof. How about Generades anything Generade proof. Well based on the info from Wikipedia, RPGs are very effective against unarmored or lightly armored vehicles such as armored personnel carriers (APCs). The new bomb proof MRAP vehicles are heavily-armored, but that does not answer my question. I don’t believe that the new MRAP vehicles are 100 percent resistant to bombs, but they will contribute to a Possibility of an increasingly large reduction in U.S. army casualities in warfare. Compared to the old or should i say current military vehicles they won’t wear as quick in fact i predict that they these vehicles could take a far long time to wear when being exposed to IEDs. It will take whole alot of IEDs just to destroy one bomb proof military vehicle, imagine insurgents will never get enough time to make the bombs strong enough to destroy the new bomb proof military vehicles. So we all know that insurgents know the risk of attempting to attack our troops with rifles that is why they rely so heavily on the IEDs and other bombs cause they know they can’t beat us in conventional warfare.

How much would you make if you owned a Military Company?

March 22nd, 2010 by eranio

Basically I’m talking about how much would I make if I was owner or part-owner of a military industry featuring all this. Guns, ammunition, missiles, military aircraft, military vehicles, ships, electronic systems, research and development, steel, energy and a private Special Military Corp.
My dream is to one day put all of this into one company. i’ll be the real-life Tony Stark
I want to be a Weapons Engineer when I graduate :)

today i was driving down the freeway and saw a military vehicle w/ men on top and they had their BIG guns out?

February 9th, 2010 by eranio

it looked like the pics you see of the men and women patrolling the streets of iraq, on the big tank-type vehicles (but the kind w/ actual wheels, not those weird chain thingies) where they’re standing on top with their m-16′s or whatever big guns out and ready, just in case, only it was on a california freeway! we’re far from any base that i know of, they were headed north, and san diego is south of me. 29 palms and all that, im not sure what direction that is from me, but its a good 1.5 hrs away. so what im basically wondering is, i’ve seen military vehicles before, but never w/ the boys on top with their giant guns out in their hands! does anyone know what this was? i assume the guns werent loaded and it was some kind of training activity, but i grew up in a HEAVILY military populated area and have never seen this before, especially not on the freeway and not w/ the guns out!
lol i was NOT being paranoid, i could plainly see them, and im very used to seeing military vehicles on the road. like i said, i grew up in norfolk, va, look it up, world’s largest naval base, but anyway, i’ve seen a million convoys and military vehicles by themselves, and w/ the boys standing on top, but never holding guns. they weren’t small guns, they were BIG, so i didn’t imagine them. and im not being paranoid b/c i didn’t find this sight worrisome in the least, i just am curious to know if anyone w/ any military background whatsoever knows why they would have been there like that. like i said, i assume it was training, but what a long way from base they were!
it wasn’t a tank w/ a mounted gun, they were guns the boys were holding. and i highly doubt it was a movie shoot, although a good theory, because we were in rush hour on friday afternoon in heavy traffic on the 15 freeway. about 2 hours north of camp pendleton.
