For my Halloween costume I am going to wear a suit with a P99 airsoft pistol in the pocket and carry and M14 airsoft replica, I know that 007 uses the p99 a lot and uses the m14 in video games but has he used any other gun in the movies like an m14?

I know when you cock a handgun it pulls the hammer back and when u press the trigger it releases the hammer that strikes the back of the bullet which ignites the gun powder. But how does a pistol get cocked by istself if you don’t cock the slide. And also same thing with an automatic assault rifle. How does it shoot continueasley?

I’m just wondering about something. Assuming they have access to pistols, rifles, what do they need a shotgun for? How is tactically better than say M-16 or some other weapon? Do they use bullets or buckshot?
Right now I’m in Russia picking whether to just get my shotgun for hunting or also apply for a rubber bullet pistol permit. But starting this summer these pistols are treated like hunting weapons, meaning you can’t carry them loaded or use within city limits. I’m also having trouble imagining a scenario where I’d use that pistol and not get into trouble for doing it. If it comes to that I might as well use the shotgun.

I’m sure many people have been touchin on this subject as of late and recent times. But I still want to bring it up. I am against such law, I am from Texas of course, and I’ve always been able to go anywhere with my rifle for one, and my dad with his pistol and just shoot for fun. With a proper permit, we can carry a concealed handgun. I believe banning will not solve any issues, it will bing another civil war, and slowly Obama will pick our country apart by tearing out every ammendment that we have ever loved and cared about that has kept this country in tact since 1776. There is horrible crime don’t you doubt. But someone is going to get a hold of a weapon, or someone is going to murder in a different way…either way it’s not going to be any better if not worst. I am in the military as well, so I was always taught to "love" my weapon and never leave it, I sure as hell am not going to have someone pry it from my hands when I am home in Texas. How do you protect your family when ya really need too? Crap happens…and you can no longer protect your family…opinions anyone?

i mean sidearm as long as its either 9mm or 45acp.
i dont understand that if you have a 1911 pistol (which is a universally made gun and im almost 100% its still in use) why you couldnt take that

Loughner and the other nuts like him, would have to had reloaded 5 or even 6 times to shoot that many people with the average revolver. Why not limit all non-military or law enforcement to 5 or 6 shots per pistol or rifle or shotgun. You would still be able to defend yourself and your family?

I was reading about how cowboys and lawmen in the past would often have the same caliber for their rifle and pistol so they could use the same ammo for each gun and eliminate confusion. Looking around though it’s pretty hard to match calibers today (ie. I have a 30/30 but can’t find a matching caliber handgun, esp in semi-auto). Seems this thing would be especially useful in places like the military. Truthfully I don’t know much about guns, but why aren’t there more options for using the same ammo for a rifle and a handgun? What do you think is the ideal matching set?

I live in Pennsylvania and I don’t have one, and I’m not just concerned about in PA, but where in other states can’t you carry a pistol even going through all the proper legal channels, and NO military or Police service/experience as well as a clean record. I have always just wandered the answer to this.
My guess would be school, sporting events, military bases, amusement parks, etc.

My eyes haven’t really ever been the best throughout my life time. I’m 16, and my left eye was what they called a "Lazy eye" and now that I’ve gotten older, it’s gotten a lot better. Not perfect, really, but better and sometimes when I’m watching shows or playing games, etc, my left eye would almost come in to focus and I could see part of whatever I’m watching with my left eye. I believe, if I’m right, my left eye is now 20/60 and my right eye is 20/40 or something. I don’t think I’ll ever be out in the battlefield in say Afghanistan or something, I’d like to be.. But I’m sure it’s not that great at all, I just wanna feel like I’ve done something for my country. Now, me with bad eyesight: What kind of, I guess you’d say, career could I have in the military? Maybe a medic or something? But I don’t know anything about that. I don’t know which branch I wanna join, either. I’ve mostly been thinking USMC or the Army. If I had a job in the Army or USMC that doesn’t require shooting, etc, could I still rank up and would I be required to take some kind of physical training (I’m pretty sure everyone would have to do that, I’m just making sure what kind of physical training!) and training in firearms? (e.g. Being able to hold maybe a pistol or something for protection if I were at a base in Afghanistan). Also, what kind of eyesight would you need to join the military, anything specific?

Military or civilian?
And do you plan on taking any in the near future?
Rifle, pistol or shotgun?
Or do you believe that carefully punching holes in paper at the range is enough?

Watch any film noir movie like "The Big Sleep" starring Humphrey Bogart and everyone holds their pistol by their waste with their elbow bent. Was this the way military and police held their firearms during the 1940′s and 1950′s or was this Hollywood’s interpretation? Nowadays we have professional consultants on set for medical, military and scientific scenes.
Yes, sorry the correct spelling of "waste" is "waist". Seems you are not allowed to edit after posting.

I am just starting out in airsoft and some people will say that don’t start with a sniper rifle. My dad said the same thing. My dad says that I should just get a regular pistol to start off. And I will do that however when I do get a sniper rifle which one should I buy? I want to keep it under 0 if possible, and under 400 fps because most places don’t let them be more powerful with a .2 g BB.

Here’s a question for all of you law enforcement and/or military personnel that have experience in cold weather climates. I work for a law enforcement agency where it can get quite cold during the winter months. Because I have been cursed with having cold hands, I’ve spent the last few years looking for a glove system that will keep my hands warm while maintaining the dexterity needed to operate and manipulate my rifle and pistol, including magazine changes. I’ve tried several but haven’t found the right one yet. And to everyone else, ski/snowboarding gloves are not an option.

Thanks you guys are a great help im leaning towards either a pump that holds quite a few shells or a mosin nagant.

A military cargo plane, flying over a populated area, suddenly loses power and starts to nose down. The pilot tries to pull up, but with all their cargo, the plane is too heavy. So he yells to the soldiers in back to throw things out to make the plane lighter. They throw out a pistol. "Throw out more!" shouts the pilot. So they throw out a rifle. "More!" he cries again. They heave out a missile, and the pilot regains control.
He pulls out of the dive and lands safely at an airport. They get into a jeep and drive off. Pretty soon they meet a boy on the side of the road who’s crying. They ask him why he’s crying and he says "A pistol hit me on the head!"
They drive more and meet another boy who’s crying even harder. Again they ask why and the boy says, "A rifle hit me on the head!"
They apologize and keep driving. They meet a boy on the sidewalk who’s laughing hysterically. They ask him, "Kid, what’s so funny?" The boy replies, "I sneezed and a house blew up!"

I have fired a few shots in my life and I have come to realize that firing a pistol in this fashion is not very effective. I think if it were, we would see military and police training their members to do this.
I think we should sponsor free firearms lessons for gangbangers, maybe then they would be able to hit each other more, and not injure so many innocent bystanders.

So i am going over someones house and its a big yard 4 acres i think, and i don’t want to run around with a pistol that i have to reload all of the time( i’ll be happy with a SMG or something like that, as long has it as good range). here is what i am wondering:
1) Is there a cheap Rifle under 100$ with a scope
2) Or just a Rifle for Around under 75$ and i can buy a scope attachment?
3) Ammo, should i buy some and if i do need some, how much
The stores around my city (Edmonton) is: Walmart, Superstore, Canadian Tire, San Fransisco, any others that will sell them?
P.S – I’ll also be happy with a good long range SMG or something under 75$

Is there a use for a pistol in a warzone? I can’t imagine an M9 being more useful than a carbine or rifle.
