I am looking to buy an airsoft sniper rifle and I noticed that there are two types of the UTG sniper rifles, the Type 96 and the MK96. I’m wondering which one is better and if there are any differences I should know about… Thank you!

Now, as a bit of an experiment, i’d like to hear your opinion
You are in an urban battle field, a downtown of any major city. Let’s say New York. Big city blocks, tall buildings, and the subway system. Total anarchy is rampant, every man for himself. You are given the choice between 4 sniper rifles. They are as follows:
#1: Karabiner 98k with Zeiss 4x ZF42 scope, chambered in 8mm (7.92x57mm Mauser)
#2: Mosin-Nagant 91/30 with 4x PEM scope, chambered in 7.62x54R
#3: Lee-Enfield SMLE No.1 MK III, (HT) with 4x telescope, chambered in .303 British
#4: Gewehr 43 with 4x ZF 4 scope, chambered in 8mm (7.92x57mm Mauser)
The enemy is an organized force, complete with supply lines and the latest in ceramic body armor. You are given the rifle of your choice, ammuniton is plentiful, and a cleaning kit for your gun of choice. In this urban guerrila war, you are to fight for your life. Please state which one you would choose and give a detailed explaination on why.
I’ll start out. I’d choose the Mosin-Nagant. The cartridge is plenty powerful for shots over 300 yards, and with the scope accurate shots have been recorded up to and beyond the 1000 yard mark. I own and use one today and go with the "use what you know" trick, though the farthest shot I ever got was 445 yards. It, to me, seems like the obvious choice for its reliability, ease of use, and accuracy.

One of my friends told me that they carry and use both the m40a3 and the 16 which make no sense considering snipers usually use sniper rifles.

Easy way/tips to get Extended Mags for Sniper Rifles (specifically Barret 50 cal) in Modern Warfare 2 (MW2)?
I am trying to get the Mastery Challenge completed for the Barret 50 cal in mw2. Right now my class is Barret 50 cal FMJ and Thermal Scope.

Steady Aim Pro
FMJ obviously is necessary to get the extended mags attachment. You need 40 bullet penetration kills any tips?

I have seen Sniper rifles where the scope thing is way above where the bullet leaves the gun. How can a gun be so accurate at such long distances if you aren’t looking from where the bullet leaves the gun.

Does the right to bear arms mean that gun owners should have the right to own military weapons? Does it mean that machine guns, 50 ca.sniper rifles ak 47s m16s etc are included in the bill of rights ? where do we draw the line on COMMON SENSE and responsible gun ownership ? why do some groups always take it to the extreem?

Is there a legal sniper rifle you can own in the U.S? usually i have a lot of information on military but this has been a weak point. Does the united states allow citizens to own military style rifles, sniper rifles with a exotic weapon permit or is it all out banned?

ok my and a lot of mates are starting up like a club of airsofters. not like serious ones tht are willing to spend hundreds and hundreds on guns and equipment. I personally would prefer a 7.62 in an AR frame similar to the sniper rifles used by Delta. I know that is highly improbable because of the reduced amount of rounds per mag, but the extra power would be really nice. What is your opinion, and which round that is being researched for the future do you think will be implimented?
Please answer with calibers that are useable in a light service rifle. Not .50. Something like that is too heavy. This Q is for military personell with experience in shooting.

OK, so just for the record I HATE using the recon class. It just really annoys me and I hate playing agaisnt another team that has 13 snipers on a team of 16…Anyway, I digress. So to my question. I have noticed that I get sniped in one shot from many of the sniper rifles that have really low damage. Such as the -88 and the SVU. I tried using them with the stopping power perk thing (I forget the name so that’s what I call it, I hope you know what I mean), but It still takes 2 shots two kill an enemy, even on HARDCORE. It seems that I get sniped in one shot but then I have to take 2 shots to kill an enemy. I was wondering if there was something I wasn’t doing? Maybe they just ALWAYS get headshots…I though about that but I’m always moving so…Anyway are there different perks (I guess that’s what they are) that will allow me to get one shot sniper kills with the low powered rifles (In other words not the m24, GOL, and M95). Or do I just have to learn how to headshot running guys that are zigzagging…Thanks to anyone who can help me with this problem!
Yeah I know what an Aimbot is! I have MW2 so….(So the game is full of hackers, i.e. aimbotters, wallhackers). It’s not an aimbot merely because they don’t have a million kills just enough where it is annoying to play.

I’m watching Ultimate Weapons on the military channel. They were doing the top 10 sniper rifles. I few down the list they were talking about one and the experts stated that this semi auto sniper rifle was so good that it was as accurate or more then a bolt action sniper rifle. Meaning on average bolt actions are more accurate. Why is this?

I especially want to know about the efficiency of each rifle, performance vs. cost. Also, I know that the G3 has way more stopping power; that’s good but that’s what sniper rifles are for. Likewise the G36 may have less kick and be more accurate, but it may not have enough stopping power. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the G36 cheaper because its body is composite rather metal?
One last thing, make sure account for the durability of each rifle.
Thx Grizzly, but I suppose the G36 wouldn’t be considered so underpowered in the G36C variation, lots of power for its size at that point.
