For me:
Weapon- a rifle with a long, sniper barrel and a scope that shoots electricity and water-filled glass orbs. When the projectile breaks, the target is shocked by electricity, which is conducted by the water.
Vehicle- a hovering aircraft with 3 front turrets, 2 10 soldier capacity passenger chambers, a cockpit, and a thick, glass bottom for viewing the battlefield. It would be used to transport troops, and launch assaults.
Oh and E. Bunny, your wierd.
Ok people, it’s not that I like war, cause I don’t, but right now! You just wanna be creative! Please, don’t say a gun that has projectiles of world peace! Be creative!

i just ordered an accuracy international arctic warfare rifle. it is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. bolt action, 10 round magazine.
my only problem is, i have no idea where to even start looking when it comes to finding the right scope. i am going to be shooting at distances up to and beyond 1000 yards. it is not competition, i am going to be shooting at a live target (medium – large game). what type of scopes do you fellas in the Marines, Army, etc use when it comes to "sniper" rifles?
k buddy you can try answering the question i asked with an answer and not questions…but for the sake of argument yes i am extremely accurate with iron sighted weapons.

Any that can shoot around 2,200 yards accuratly?
How fast would the bullet need to travel knowing that everything comes into play like humidity, earth rotation, wind and more.
Will a gun like this be able to shoot straight at the target or will I have to shoot slightly above in order for the bullet to make it to the target even though it will impact at the topmost part of the target.
So is there a gun or Sniper Rifle I should say thats capable of this.

The most powerful weapon is the MOAB which send balls of molten copper into a target. It has the equivalence of a 21,000 mton bomb.

What comes after bullets? I know conventional firearms will last very long in our military, but with 21st century technology, what comes after bullets? I’m guessing "Smart" bullets or some sort of directed energy weapon. Am I wrong or right?
Also would directed energy weapons be more effective than "Smart" bullets? I think "Smart" bullets would have a huge advantage being able to guide theirselfs to their target. Am I right or wrong?

how do you calculate elevation, weather, weight of bullet, caliber, speed, wind, distance, gravitational pull, Earth rotation, etc? In other words does anyone know the formula for hitting a target accurately?
I wish i could put this under military and physics but I cant
temperature as well… x_x (wat a difficult question iono who to ask)

Generally I wouldn’t consider a carbine (pistol ammo) for combat use because of limited range and stopping power. However I have found several manufacturers producing .40 S&W assault style firearms and they interest me because they utilize their corresponding pistols magazines. Since the biggest complaint I’ve heard from those not liking the .40 S&W in a pistol is that it has too high a velocity and long range for close combat (police say stray rounds can travel too far or bullet tends to go through target), I’m wondering if the effective range might not be even greater fired through a rifle barrel thus making it a serious choice to consider in an assault rifle. Please only experienced shooters with knowledge of .40 S&W ballastics reply.
(this may be miscategorized but thought I’d get better responses in military)
I thought it might be good if already owning a .40 pistol to have a carbine that utilized the same ammo and magazines.
Betterdead…just tried your link and get this message…I wonder why:

if you are far enough, will gravity pull the bullet down so ur actually shooting below your intended target? does the bullet have a delay time? like if ur target is moving at a fast speed and you shoot right when hes in ur crosshairs…will it still miss because it cant travel to its destination fast enough? if it is windy will that affect the bullets trajectory? And besides…isnt the scope like an inch or two higher than the barrel? if you aim at a bullseye with the crosshairs wont you just shoot an inch or two below it? sorry i dont know much about guns i was just curious

I have an automatic, but I want a sniper rifle also. It only needs to be REALLY far shooting, because I just need it to scare ‘em when they’re far away. But it also needs to be REALLY accurate. There’s no need for a 100 yd shot if your target is 50yd in the other direction. I will be very appreciative of your answers.

Im interested in buying an AR15 or M4. I’ll target shoot with it (not competitivley) and probably wont use it to defend the home (got the Mossberg 500 for that
but its one of those gotta have guns and im looking for a rifle in .223 anyway, so might as well consider these. Theres so many variations, but im looking for one of the ones thats clean and generic of a military version. Im not really looking for an all out custom crazy look that some of the upper end ones have that end up costing 1500- infinity dollars. I know i can expect less accuracy farther out with the M4, but personally, I like the way to looks…….Any thoughts opinions on different makers, what company to stay away from, which to buy from etc etc. Half of the fun in buying a new gun is researching and learning something of what everyone else knows. Thanks for any serious input, anyone who says get the AK47 you’re truly worthless.

Hey guys,
Do you know any military weapons that is controlled by computers, helping the weapon to be more efficient in combat. For example, whats that missile called, the one that follows its target around like in the movie Fantastic Four?

Whats your ideas of the new weapons our military (US) is using in Iraq. The M82A1 50 caliber sniper rifle, the Mini gun, the UAV’s that fire Helfire missles, all the smart bombs that can hit a target within 6 feet. How do you feel about all this protection. I like it. I think its cool how powerful our military really is.

ok im a senior in high school, im goin to college next year but after that i do wanna serve. initially, i was into aviation, then infantry, but as i think about it i really don’t know if i should because as much as i really want to learn how to use a rifle, learn survival techniques, work in a team and experience camaraderie, ever since i read up about Jimmy Massey and his story i’ve been doubting if i could actually take civilian lives without thinking twice about it. don’t get me wrong im all about fighting the enemy, but im guessing that in real war its not always black and white, you don’t always know who the enemy is or who the civilians are, so my question is what about medic? i wanna be in teh field, not doin paperwork on a base, but from what i’ve read about hospital corpsmen they aren’t allowed to shoot except in self-defense, and i would have no problem with killing terrorists. is it the same with army medics, would i not be shooting at people except in self-defense, when i know that the target is the enemy? not to mention i would like to be medic just for the sake of helping soldiers or marines. any other MOS’s come to mind which teach you how to use a firearm, and survival techniques, but have lower chances of killing civilians? would i be best off just sticking with coast guard?
oh and btw i mean no disprespect to people who are in combat MOS’s, im not suggesting it think any less of u because u may have killed civilians, i understand that its an unavoidable part of war, i just don’t know if i personally could take it.

In my current mood of "share your memories…"
We were on a firing range with the FN MiniMi (US designation : M249 SAW).
We were firing individually, so the range master come on my side and tell me "Ready…"
I put my machine gun, with a loaded belt on my shoulder, safety off, sights on the lowest part of the target…
"Go !"
I raise the machine gun, I aim, press the trigger and
clunk.
in my head "clunk ? damn it ! jammed !", so I remove the firearm from my shoulder, I give a good tap on the top cover and my hand come on the bolt handle to rack it…and then, I realize something is missing at the end….
People later told me I said : "For sure, it will not work well"
the barrel was on the ground, the link and the ammo too…
The range master was laughing…I thought he would never stop.
Just a fun memory to share with you.
The barrel mount was just…a little too much used on this one.
lol. I still laugh too.

Is it me or is it just incredible the amount of technology the US has..
We have jets that can out fly anti aircraft missiles, we have aircraft carriers that are longer than the empire state building is tall and can carry out an entire assault by itself, we have missiles that can take off in the Arctic ocean from a submarine, and pinpoint a target thousands of miles away, we have artillery that can be fired from mile behind the front lines and accurately eliminate the enemy…..
And the best part is, we have men and women ready to fight until the death to help protect their country…..
I must say, aside from all the Liberals who would rather see our military disbanded and re-direct the money to the homeless in some foreign country that will most likely attack us, We live in a great country…
I am proud to be an American, Happy Memorial DAY all you vets out there and all those that have served, war or not…
YOU ARE A BRAVE! Have a Great day monday!
18,000 die annual of health care issues, gee and i though Mr Clinton made sure that when he sold those plots in Arlington to the Chinese he took care of that problem….no wait..maybe i should support the guy on the street corner begging drinking a 40 ounce not paying taxes on his earned income…I’ll just go back to my 60 hour a week job..thanks..

The video that is been featured to the youtube shows that the railgun can hit it’s target very accurately at very long distance because of supersonic velocity of the projectile by using electrical magnetic field in a coiled rail

I am a graduate student from India attending graduate school in the US. Part of my research involves new methods of computer and gyroscopic stabilization and aiming mechanisms for devices that need to sit absolutely still while in operation, and devices that must aim at small targets from a distance.
I have also done research on my own. I am trying to develop a stabilized platform for military applications, but I need more funding for the production and research. I am close to building a device that could stabilize and auto-aim a firearm for any purpose. For example, this device will guide a fired round to its targert with far greater accuracy than any human marksman, and can be pre-set to fire at a certain time or a certain number of times at the same target, or can be programmed to search for different targets. It will weigh as little as 5kg.
How can I contact a US military procurement officer for information on sales contracts and acquisitions? This is a good product.

I’m talking about the real snipers who crawl and walk for days, and then wait for the target for days. I may be exaggerating on how long it takes them. Sometimes it’s short, and sometimes the mission is long. If I can’t be a sniper like that as an enlisted soldier. Then what marksman jobs are there. I think there are snipers, and marksman that use sniper rifles.

There will be no middle class, only rulers and the servants. All laws will be uniform under a legal system of world courts practicing the same unified code of laws, backed up by a One World Government police force and a One World unified military to enforce laws in all former countries where no national boundaries shall exist. The system will be on the basis of a welfare state; those who are obedient and subservient to the One World Government will be rewarded with the means to live; those who are rebellious will simply be starved to death or be declared outlaws, thus a target for anyone who wishes to kill them. Privately owned firearms or weapons of any kind will be prohibited.
