I’m looking for a less gung-ho and money-hungry organization that preferably focuses more on C&R weapons, for I focus on older Russian military firearms, such as the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30 and it’s many variants. A group that doesn’t involve it’s self much in politics would be nice as well. Any suggestions?

By the way, I’m stuck in California, so no state-specific ones, please.

do all privates or trainees start off with the usual weapons like M4A1 and M16A2 or can they choose what they want like if they qualify for sniper positions…….oh and just wondering what ever happened to gatling guns and flamethrowers????

I have a project for my US History class, and my part is about the weapons and technology used during the civil war. Any facts, books or good websites wood be appreciated, thanks.

I am in the military and i will be moving back home to California in a few months. I have a few weapons; S&W MP9, Escort 12Gauge Pump shotgun, Mosin Nagant, and an AR-15. I hear that the gun laws suck out there because the AR-15 is considered an "Assault" rifle eventhough its not full auto. is there any way around this? Can i still take my guns back home? Do I have to get a special permit? Dont really care to hear anyone’s rant about how i shouldnt have a gun cuz its dangerous cuz i hear it all the time and im keepin it one way or another. Any useful info is very appreciated.
My Life Suck- All the weapons I have are because i have personally bought them. Even the AR. The Military usually issues you the M4 and i dont think they let you keep it. but the worst they can say is no right. good luck.

So much for the Right to Bear Arms, right?

What ever happened to this law, regulation, travesty is more the bets word to use.

In one single action, what politicians telling military to collect all personal registered weapons did was makethe area more unsafe for those that believe in the 2nd ammendment to protect their families..
And they gave the criminals the upper hand.

Anyone remember if this loophole was altered?

Or in the event of another major disaster, will the national guard go around again and demand personl weapons?
They will have toshoot me before I give up mine!
Just went to the NRA and found this article.

I’m trying to find out details about world militaries and their navies, airforce etc. Anyone know where I can find a good website that gives specifics of different countries militaries, weapons, vehicles, bases, history??

I’m about to enlist in the Florida National Guard as a Military Police. And I was wondering what the laws were in Florida regarding Military Police carrying weapons wile not on military duty (or as a civilian). Due to the fact their military law enforcement just like local law enforcement they receive training.

I was wondering if military police were allowed to carry their service weapons (most likely m9 or sig) off duty, off base and concealed the same as federal officers? And if so what are the restrictions?
I was wondering because i saw an episode of ncis where an enlisted marine is carrying his service pistol in the states and im civil air patrol so i was curious about the regs for that

I am writing a paper for a course where I have to draw up a business plan. It is necessary for me to create a firm which will provide armed security for ships / cargo. I am curious which licenses would be needed to allow current/former military personnel to carry fully automatic firearms, the licenses for storage of such weapons / ammunition, as well as insurance necessary in such a case. I tried looking up the necessary licenses for Blackwater International but came up empty handed. Any help provided is appreciated.

I live in WV and own a AR-15 Bushmaster, Tactical .12 ga Mossburg & other weapons. How do I sell them legally? I have a military spinal cord injury and can no longer enjoy shooting sports and hunting. Most are long guns, but I also have a Colt 1991-A1 .45 semi. and a Rossi S & W J frame Stainless Steel .38. All are like new condition and well cared for. Do I need to have a dealer sell them and give up a commission?

I’m making a game and I need three ideas for weapons that might be cool to add to the game. I have already used: M40 Sniper, AK-47, FAMAS, Shotgun, RPG, M16, M9 Pistol, and m249 saw.

my father left me a USMC issue m1911 .45 caliber handgun, with three magazines. he has killed well over 5 japanese soldiers with that gun. he was issued it in 1933, and carried it all through world war two and korea. the gun is in excellent condition.

my uncle, who served in the US army and was stationed in germany, gave me a german army issued 9mm luger, and it has two magazines. he got it off of one of the many enemy infantry he put down. gun shoots perfect, all parts are from the original era it was captured in. meaning nothing has been replaced since he took it off the enemy.

i am never getting rid of these weapons, i will pass them down to my kids when they turn of age. just out of curiosity though…how much do you think each one, magaznes included, would be worth? take a guess i dont need an exact ammount.

This is re-posted for a reason, so please keep your negative comments to yourself.
This is a RE-POST from another Category…..

Need to know for legal reasons, my niece’s boyfriend is a wacko who served in Afghanistan, who has beat her, poured gas on her, aimed a military issued sniper rifle at her, and constantly threatens to blow up the house she lives in. So, is the weapons illegal, and if so, who do I contact when I do not know his last name. BTW, I have called 911 myself and local law enforcement doesn’t have the power to do anything just going by someone’s word. And, doubt seriously she will talk against him.

Who exactly would I call or contact about this? She is scared and confused, and I believe that she is scared to let someone know, but apparently the sheriff’s dept. already knows something because they mentioned it to me. They said that they cannot go by hearsay, with that said I understand. Isn’t there another source to contact?

like sniper rifles, fighter planes, helecopters, bulldozers, tanks, ect and use them to kill Palestinians everyday and then if the Palestinians get a few rockets that haven’t killed anyone the Israelis start crying "terrorist" and say that its illegal? If 10 Palestinians are killed for every 1 Israel killed how can Israel be the victim? And why do all the Israelis talk about the Palestinians putting down their weapons? Since the Israelis are the ones with the weapons who keep murdering people why don’t they put the weapons down?
I’m not sure YOU understand the situation. Palestinians have been fighting for independence for a while now, and the Israelis don’t want to stop fighting until Palestinians are all dead. I suggest you read some stories on it and start listening to Al Jazeera.

Please turn off FOX news and get some real information on the situation.

Samy- I respect your answer but the name os the president of the USA is spelled "BUSH" I really never imagined that someone could spell that so very wrong.
Rivivia- Yes you are right the Israelis have military equiptment because they want to kill lots of people, Im glad youre finally comming to you senses LOL

i was wondering what the title of anyone that did weapons delevelopment in the military would be..iam mainly intersted in firearms. do u know if every branch has there own program or is it all focused in one?

They must know something we don’t know.

Oddly, US bases still have very low per capita violent crime rates. DOes the prohibition on weapons contribute to this?
A "civilain" officer? Hahaha you mean a paramilitary police officer. HArdly a civilian….

Can you believe this? The United States is the most powerful nation on earth but can’t whip an insurgency who has basic weapons. We have every weapon known to man and all they have is a rifle, Pistol, or a basic bomb that any high school kid can make but they are putting the hurt on the USA. How embarassing. Don’t you agree the USA should hang their heads in abject shame?

How is it that Blackwater Worldwide and other private military companies (PMCs) can acquire their heavy weaponry? Do they just inform the ATF that they will be purchasing x-number of M-4s so it does not look sleezy? Do they register as a firearms dealer? Does the company have to be registered in a state where full-auto weapons are legal?

Does Blackwater Worldwide or other PMCs use explosives such as hand grenades? If so, how is it that they can use them?

Considering that the giant red crosses they wear (wore) are supposed to deter the enemy from shooting at them, it seems like that protection (as it is) would be lessened if they were carrying weapons. Anyone know?

The more advanced our rifles, shotguns, and machine guns get the less reliable and more likely to jam they become. I’d rather have a Winchester 1873 or a Model 1887 Shotgun than a M-16/M-4. At least my gun won’t jam every few magazines or if a piece of dust gets into the gun. Don’t even get me started on Semi Auto Shotguns. The M60 isn’t exactly reliable either. The ironic thing is, the fancier your gizmos get, the less reliable and prone to failure they become. Plastic guns (like the plastic cars) of today cannot ever hope to live up to the legacy as the weapons that won the west.

Did I say anything about COD? Nice try getting out of the fact modern guns are unreliable pieces of crap. Oh, and by the way, I’m pretty sure the outside of an M-16 is plastic. It looks pretty plastic like to me.
Also I never said anything bad about the AK. It is still far better than our weapons. It’s a prime example of NOT JAMMING.

I’m 18 right now and I eventually plan to join some branch of the military at some point in time. Just about everyone in my family has served and it’s something that I want to do as well. I’m 18 now and I think the cut-off limit is 30 so I have until then which is 12 years. I dont know but for some reason when I join I want things to be different, instead of using the same weapon my dad used over 30 years ago. I always here and see all these concepts of what our military will be equiped with in like the year 2015 and so on but it’s 2007 now and I don’t see anybody with vizors coming over there face giving them an HUD of all there surroundings and there squad. Also how much longer are we going to use the M16/M4 weapons?? I know they are excellent weapons but we have used them for a long as hell time right now. When are we going to switch over to a gun like the SCAR Assault rifle or the HK416? Anytime in the next 12 years maybe? I would be a hell of alot more excited to sign up if so.
Hah yes I know that is a quite absurd reason not to join. I think I’m going to spend about the next 8 years getting in the best shape possible and then join up when I’m about 26. I went to military school 8th through the 10th grade so I have shot civillian grade M16’s so I kind of have somewhat of a feel for the actual weapon. I want to eventually try out for the special forces in my army career. I know what it’s like to go through hell. We had an "elite" cadet program that was extremely rigorous and I learned alot through that. It’s all really just in your head. I hate to imagine what Special Forces training is like but atleast I have had a taste of what "hell training" is like. I think by the time I’m 26 If I’m in good shape I will be alot more mentally prepared for something like that. That way I can get a hand on something besides the damned M16. Thanks for the replies so far and I respect you all who have served to protect my freedom. Hopefully one day I’ll do the same. Thanks

What weapons were the American army and navy using from 1870-1914 (before WWI)?
I’m making a report on the progression/evolution of the US military’s weapons and technology from after the civil war to before WWI, and am having trouble finding sources that list and describe the various weapons adopted over time, and info about them…any info or sources would be appreciated, thanks
