i just ordered an accuracy international arctic warfare rifle. it is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. bolt action, 10 round magazine.
my only problem is, i have no idea where to even start looking when it comes to finding the right scope. i am going to be shooting at distances up to and beyond 1000 yards. it is not competition, i am going to be shooting at a live target (medium – large game). what type of scopes do you fellas in the Marines, Army, etc use when it comes to "sniper" rifles?
k buddy you can try answering the question i asked with an answer and not questions…but for the sake of argument yes i am extremely accurate with iron sighted weapons.

I’ve always been curious where the military stores their combat equipment and weapons/ammo. Surely there has to be a locatio nwhere weapons are stored in mass quantity… if so where?
Just reading military novels where they are outfittign themselves and picking thir weapons of choice made me ask, where do they keep these guns?

I was just curious how they name their weapons like the M4A1 and stuff. Do the m and the a have a certain significance? And the numbers? Answers are greatly appreciated

I’m just wondering about something. Assuming they have access to pistols, rifles, what do they need a shotgun for? How is tactically better than say M-16 or some other weapon? Do they use bullets or buckshot?
Right now I’m in Russia picking whether to just get my shotgun for hunting or also apply for a rubber bullet pistol permit. But starting this summer these pistols are treated like hunting weapons, meaning you can’t carry them loaded or use within city limits. I’m also having trouble imagining a scenario where I’d use that pistol and not get into trouble for doing it. If it comes to that I might as well use the shotgun.

I think the guns are technologically advanced, and in the case of the F2000, greatly superior to the M4′s currently jamming on our troops in their fight for civility in the middle east. The F2000 is a 5.56 chambered weapon, that has a longer barrel than the M4, but is much shorter. It uses M16 magazines, so it would fit right in with current weapons.
Or, thanks to the way the contracts work, is there no way for troops to recquisition their commanders to let them have better guns, even if they paid out of pocket for them? I’d consider my rifle worth investing in.
I have seen group photos of guys in my recruiter’s office that have weapons that i doubt are commonly issued. And it was the recruiter in the photos, not just a generic promotional photo.
I know SF are well known for giving the military beaurocrats the finger, and using whatever guns they feel best get the job done (H&K’s SCAR-L). Are they the only guys that get a choice in guns?
I’ll be doing 89D EOD in the Army, btw.

I was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 2002. I want to re enlist but I am not allowed because I have two tattoos on my neck, one on each side. The Marine Corps cites that it looks unprofessional. That may be, but considering I’m a grunt, only want to be a grunt, and that grunts wear Kevlar helmets, Neck collars, flak jackets, and carry rifles amongst a vast group of varied weapons……how do my tattoos effect my ability to fight in say a little place like Iraq? Do insurgents give job interviews?

We all watch these T.V. shows everyonce and a while about new weapons, or the show futureweapons that are being developed and are developed by the military.
If everyone runs around saying the new superbomb is the most advanced and best bomb on earth, why arent we using it? How come we are using human beings instead of advanced robots?
Whats your opinion?

Its clear their weapons are bought by heroin sales. Who are they selling to? The US?
Its makes all too much sense to go after that crop.

How did WW1 embody the characteristics of total war in a military sense (not domestic, ex. propaganda)?
Total war – the devotion of a country’s entire resources to the war effort
I’ve come up with several examples, but I can’t really think of anymore. Here’s what I came up with so far:
- German use of U-boats and unrestricted submarine warfare
- Huge armies
- Production of new weapons and technologies like the tank, airplane, and poison gas in order to win
Anything else?
Thank you!

I was on yahoo and I read a post that told about some new military tech. I am wondering why they are letting this info out when other countries can read it as well. I mean you would want your country’s military to be unknown by other countries right? If other countries were to wage war on us they could make defenses and weapons that are suited for that specific thing.

What is the better preparation? In Call of Duty are there any particular weapons you suggest getting good with? What perks and killstreaks should I pick? What class (scout, medic, engineer, etc) in BF2 do you think is the best preparation for joining the military?

I am joining the navy and I was curious as to what weapons are strictly sold to people in the military for their own use, and what are some sites that sell these weapons?

Besides personell what other expenses can they have? To buy new weapons, dont they make their own weapons? If they need metal cant they make their own metal? Research and Development, isnt that done by the personnel which are already paid?

I am an avid shooter and fire arm collector. I have been shooting from almost 25 years now. I am in the military. I do compete in some shooting competitions(not professionally nor am I a sponsored shooter). I am asking though what are some valid points of why people should not be able to possess firearms? Not possess silencers / suppressors? Not possess semi-automatic pistols, rifles, and shotguns? Not possess assault rifles (semi automatic rifles or not always considered assault rifles? Not possess fully automatic rifles?? I am not going to be foolish. I do agree not everyone should possess a fully automatic rifle nor does everyone need to. Some people own them cause they are fire arm collectors and like to allow public citizens a chance to shoot some military firearms. There are shooting events across the country where people can pay to shoot rounds through an automatic rifle. I also know some of you are saying why do people need suppressors if they are not going to do anything wrong. Again some people just want to own it so they can. I collect weapons from ww ii and vietnam.

Taking into account our available modern technology, i.e. availability of weapons that can wipe out whole countries, speed of deployability. Once the president has begun his 30 military control for policing action and started a war-like conflict, congress can’t very well have us pull out in the middle of the conflict, can they?

Ok the answers I got kinda make sense but they also don’t, in a way, I’ve been told by numerous people that, in the military you either do, or you have the opportunity to get a certain "class" license that allows you to purchase and own weapons that normal people cannot purchase or own so I guess my revised question is: how do you get the different classes of weapons licenses, and what kind of weapons can you buy/own with them, and where can you buy them (besides the black market lol)

Sonar pulse weapons have been around for decades. Was it these weapons or another weapon that caused the Tsunami?
Many people, countries, and those on the left believe G W Bush ordered sonar pulses on testing underground targets after 9/11. There are protests because the pulses kill whales. The joint NATO excersizes were shown to be in that region the week before the Tsunami. Why didn’t they give this information after the event. They still haven’t.

my friend said that the military has tested successful plasma weapons but are not plausible for wide use due to its early stage and price.
